Have you seen that Joe has given Modiphius the rights to print a deluxe version of Rangers of Shadow Deep?
At North Star, we think this is great news. We make the official figure range, but the problem we have had is when it comes to contacting Hobby Stores is we couldn't offer the game alongside the miniatures. But now we can. We're really looking forward to it's release in Feb.
We are offering a unique miniature with every book, and there will be a release of new figures at the same time.

I've just bought if (from Modiphius, sorry @nicknorthstar) and the pdf is free with the order - just downloaded it :D
Was very tempted by the free figure, but have been meaning to buy the rules for ages, so the free pdf tipped me over the edge (the £6.82 p&p to the UK, however, nearly tipped me back :o)

From the intro blurb on the pdf
The original edition of Rangers of Shadow Deep was published in late 2018 on DriveThruRPG. This new edition contains all of the material found in the original, plus all of the additional character creation options found in the Temple of Madness supplement. It also incorporates all of the rules changes and modifications made over the last year in order to streamline game play. Just to make this edition extra special, Barrett Stanley, who has provided all of the artwork for the entire series, has added over a dozen new drawings to this edition, and the wonderful designers at Modiphius have created all new maps and reworked the layout.
If you are coming to Rangers of Shadow Deep for the first time, I hope it is the start of many wonderful adventures. If you have been playing since the beginning, I hope you will agree that this is truly a ‘Deluxe’ edition.

Is there any way to "upgrade" to the deluxe version for people who purchased the regular one on WargameVault?

No, different printer. Joe is publishing a rules update in pdf though, so we'll have the rule changes (for free I think?)

Joe has said the upgrade pdf will be (at least) uploaded to the Rangers Facebook group, so it will be free there, and I imagine will be added to other locations as well.

Ordered and received my PDF. While I agree that overall the new layout is great a lot of info is better presented, seems like publishing is still WAY behind the times. We finally have a hyper linked table of contents, however, then on page 93 we have "The Gatehouse (Location A), see Note 135." -- how about either a pop-up of the note or a hyperlink to note? I feel like this is not to much to ask. The engineering company I work for has far more elaborate documentation for the mechanical devices it sells and is able to embed everything from the proper hyperlinks to videos and diagrams on how parts should be exchanged. The same feature that produced the table of contents could be used for making some hyperlinks. This is why I hate PDF docs. They are not useable and I would argue maybe it is done on purpose to force you to purchase the physical book where at least you can put post it notes and other book marks.
I appreciate the PDF, it is just a long standing complaint that the game publishing world does not make full use of the available technology.

Arrived home to find the hardcopy had been delivered. I had ordered direct from Modiphius, so hopefully those who ordered from Northstar won't be far behind.

I spotted something that might be a significant rule change or a miss...page 47 (pdf), ranger level bonus table. It is no longer possible to learn spells when you level. Before it said your ranger gains a heroic ability or spell. Now it is only heroic ability, but you can swap a spell you already know. It is not that I don’t like the change, but it is a pretty big one when it comes to character building. If it is correct, players should be aware that if you don’t choose at least one spell at creation, your ranger can never be a spellcaster. I could not find it in the free rules upgrade pdf Joe released, but if I missed it, sorry!

Joe has said it's a mistake - any time you can take an Heroic Ability you can take a spell instead.
