Another project that I have on the go is a 28mm “Wasteland Warriors” post-apoc affair, for which I shall use FFOL rules.
I blame Malamute for this one, as he spied some Project Z motorbike frames in my box of bits and offered what was clearly the appropriate amount of encouragement to start doing something with them.
Several months and many additional purchases later, I have the beginnings of 20 mounted bikers*, each with a matching foot alternate.
*”Bikers” is not strictly true, as the rides include scooters, scramblers, sidecars, quads, etc.
The rides are from various sources, similarly the parts for the loads.
The riders use a lot of Project Z parts plus bits from Perry and elsewhere. The conversions were quite a faff as two of each mini were needed. I still have a lot of GS tidying up to do.

I’ve also started putting together some supply markers (25mm = 2 person carry, 20mm = 1 person). These are mostly from a Rubicon stowage kit.

Years ago I scratchbuilt but never finished a Second Boer War British Army Outpost. It was in the bazaar for a long time but it then occurred to me that it would make a great PA outpost, so here it is, slightly modified for its second life.

I’ll also use some of my Old West and Peninsular War terrain, as it has the arid, simplistic look that I want.
As for the world, it’s a bit like in Book of Eli and (the original) Mad Max. Hot, dry, limited water, limited fuel, limited ammo and so limited firearms (thus the Outpost is more cobbled together than bombproof).
Weapons are all sorts. There are a few firearms but it’s predominantly slingshots, bows, spears, axes, machetes, etc.

Another new project :o
lol

More wargaming pulchritude! Love those bikes. :-* :-*
-
Thanks chaps ..... it’ll be Old West with bikes 8)
“pulchritude”: that’s not a word one sees often! 8)
As an aside, I was pleasantly surprised by the number of bikes that are available

You're off to another cracking start!

You're off to another cracking start!
Racing ahead: Vroom! Vroom! :D
-
Project Z bikes are really cool, well done !
-
Looking good. Can't wait to see how it progresses.
-
Wow, that is a mighty gathering of bikes - very impressive. Always a fan of a lack of moderation in all its forms!
-
Also looking forward to watching this progress . . .
-
Awesome! :-*
-
Great stuff, really look forward to seeing more as the project progresses.
-
Thanks all. I can’t promise speedy progress as I’m still cracking on with other projects as well.
-
Wow! :-* Extra points for making a whole gang of them and not just one or two.
Had to look up what Project Z is and can easily understand why they're all sold out. Oh man those sprues would have been hot stuff in '97 when friends collected Necromunda gangs and 40K militias/cultists/brood brothers. Prince August had this line of similar metal cyberpunk gangers on bikes, which filled the need back then nicely, but the company apparently has discarded that model range so I can understand the market niche for Project Z models.
-
I’m pretty convinced that Warlord aren’t going to be restocking the Project Z sprues. I bought a load of single sprues when they had a sale a few years ago though with this project I’ve used up almost all of my useful bits. :'(
-
Some nice conversions. Looking forward to seeing those painted.
-
Another new project :o
lol
My thoughts too lol
-
Brilliant stuff Steve, you always have such good ideas 8)
-
Paint faster, we want to see these in color.
-
Thanks all. :D
Seeing as I bought the first motorbikes about 5 years ago it’s not exactly a new or fast project (though it has only recently dawned on me that it’s perhaps a more interesting way to play Old West). ;)
-
Jolly Good Stuff - keep up the momentum and hopefully it won't be another 5 years before it's finished
-
lol Hopefully not !! :D
-
Great work Steve...another awesome looking project
8)

I’ve not made much progress with this project but I did recently acquire a few of the resin Storage Containers, by Oshiro Model Terrain, and very nice they are too. 8)

Love the dog in the sidecar! :-*
-
Great looking conversions. Now lets see them with added paint :)
-
Fantastic looking project, such a shame you can get the Project Z sprues from Warlord anymore. I really think they are missing a trick, drop the game but keep selling the models they work for so many different things.
-
Thanks folks.
Yes I need to paint them. Soon I’m sure. Though my thoughts have turned away from a desert wasteland to 1970s Britain.
