Painted these for our Christmas game of Galactic Heroes next weekend.
They are a rogueish lot collected from spaceport bars in the worst kind of backwater planets...maybe, just maybe their new Captain can shape them into something good.. I don't know what themes are allowed in the GH rules but I see them as sort of rogue traders/privateers.

from left to right:
CAPTAIN BIENVENUE. A harsh man, he has to be to control his unruly crew. His moral authority is his big pistol. He has a penchant for wearing skin tight lycra unitards for no very logical reason.
BARCH. (security) The newest member of the crew. Barch is tough and capable but can he be fully trusted? His past is shady. You have to be pretty damn bad to get the sack from Wayland-Yutani. If the chips are down will he be reliable or just out for himself? He carries a heavy two handed weapon.
DOOBRI. Giant ex-mining robot for use in hostile environments. It has been upgraded with black market ex military weapons.
PLOQUIM. Tech Specialist. Alien with large brain. Carries a small energy pistol for self defence but dislikes weapons generally. In his hand is a multipurpose electronic device. He does not understand , and is exasperated by, Bong, but secretly has a grudging admiration for Bong's abilities.
BONG. Spaceship Mechanic. One of a race of aliens that is found throughout the galaxy in every spaceport. Of low intelligence, they can however fix anything at all mechanical through a mysterious intuition. They also cannot help taking things to pieces and tinkering. Bong carries a huge spanner and a couple of pyrotechnic grenades, as he is fond of flashes and bangs.
First time experimenting with the clear bases, all comments welcome.

Fantastic model selection! I recognise the old Citadel figures, but not the two aliens on the right - the purple balloon headed fellas is particularly fun. Nice work!

Thanks! that is great praise as I am a big fan of your stuff. He is a First Corps WW1 trench fighter. His head is a plastic cows head with his large brain added from green stuff.
The mechanic alien came in a set with a lady mechanic, one of the big brands but I can't remember offhand.

They look great! Lots of character in a small group.
Let’s hope they haven’t been too inventive with their financial returns....

"financial returns"? They don't know the meaning of the term old bean!

I am getting better, this is the first time ever I have had figures painted ready for a game a whole week early. Usually it's about 6 hours before.
-
It’s a good job we only needed to paint five figures too!

Yes indeed. For the Peninsular I just need to think of them as lots of groups of five...

Looking great.
I do remember games where some units had to be held in reserve.
Due to their paint job still being 'tacky'. The perils of enamels,
now-a-days wonderful acrylic dries much faster.

Great painting work and very nice miniatures. In GH all themes are allowed, all of them.

Oh I love your freshly painted TARGETS for next weeks game.
-
Great work! Cool minis, interesting backstory and brilliant painting. Thanks for sharing.

Assuming you mean the guy on the left, it's a gobber bodger from the Cygnar Field Mechanics pack by Privateer. They used to sell two-packs of them rather than the full unit, so that's probably where it came from.

Nice conversion and painting work on the others.

Nice crew, good mix of characters.
-
Thanks all for your nice comments, just hope they don't get zapped on their first outing!

Great crew. The 5 or 6 figure requirement is brilliant, it's not daunting and it means you can get teams on the board and actually play, especially if you paint as slowly as me.

Those are some classic miniatures... even a Golden Hero :) !
Lovely work and the cow-headed alien is completely inspired... very cool :) .
-
Beautifully done. A wonderful mix of personalities.
-
Clear bases for the win! (and all that)
Lovely crew :D

Exactly what the rules are for. Digging out old minis from the pile and giving them new life. Or using that pile you purchased for another game, but now you're not crazy about the rules anymore. Great work!

The rules played great. I really like the card activation mechanic. I will certainly be painting up more crews from old minis, watch this space!
