Can’t wait to play a Maiwand scenario 8)

Hmmm.
Such a shame the Perrys didn’t do this. Looks like the initiative has been seized by another...
Nice painting as usual :)
Be interesting to see what the kit’s like and how much is in it.
-
Interesting! I have a feeling some of those might find themselves in the Indian Mutiny.
-
5 figures per sprue, 40 men per box, £25
Nice sculpts with plenty of various heads full of character..and the Martini Henrys look better than the ones of my Brits :o
Lots of options so you can get all swords or all rifles/ muskets.
They look sweet with AK47s as well actually (not included)

I've got a bunch of WW1/Interwar tropical Brits that have never had anyone to do a proper Jazz Age frontier squabble with, as I've never gotten around to budgetting for Empress's lovely Afghans.
These plastic chaps might do nicely, especially as I'm decidedly on the pulpier end of the skirmish gaming spectrum and exact historical accuracy isn't an absolute priority...
-
They don’t look bad do they .
-
They look great! Will be buying some.
-
They look pretty good, yeah. 8)
If the Perry's had plans for plastic Afghans I don't think they would be put off by the release of these though, not that there is anything wrong with the sculpts, more just that the Perry's tend to do their own thing anyway.
-
I like 'em a lot
-
All sword could make for quite a handy Sinbad skirmish group
-
On first impressions they look rather good!
I asked the Perry's about plastic Afghans and they said they had no plans for them, that was a couple of years back. They didn't rule out doing them sometime in the future, but with their Paraguayan War 1864-70 project just announced I'm expecting their focus to be on that for now.
These look like they could be a good alternative, especially if they fit in nicely size wise with the Perry metals.
-
Looks like the Mad Mullah's getting some reinforcements for the 2020 campaigning season!
>:(

Exactly my thoughts!
-
Shame they won't come with some Lee Enfields to lengthen the period they can be used for....
-
Excellent.
WF have some cracking releases coming next year :)
-
Whaouh :-* :-* :-*
here is the sprue shot :

5 figurines per sprue and 40 in the box for +/- £25
As talibans too, but need to find some AK 47 now.
Any one knows if the British are coming ?
-
I will definately get a box of these for my First Afghan War/Sikh Wars project.
-
I like the look of these. It's great that they have included a whole array of different arms, heads and weapons. They look to be excellent and I shall be investing in some when they eventually emerge for sale.
-
Great looking figures. Are there some heads in skullcaps? Squinting at the photo it looks like there might be two? I always want a mix of headgear with my tribesmen!
-
There look to be 10 heads, 2 with skull cap.
I might be tempted to buy the Perry seperate Sikh heads and use soem of these as Sikh irregulars for my Sikh wars project.
-
Would be interested in seeing the sikh war conversions. Will most likely buy some of these sets in the future. Think they would be great to convert gripping beast light cavalry in indian irregular cavalry as fielded in great numbers at Assaye and Plassey to name a few big battles.
-
Definitely something I will want for my bits box. I can see some Medieval Fantasy uses.

They look quite good, but I would have appreciated wider array of weapons. It seems like they are stopping by nothing later than a Martini-Henry. Some Mausers, Enfield MI and Mosin-Nagant would have been nice to.

Exactly my thoughts. I looked into getting some Lewis guns and some Warlord games weapon sprues to make some 3rd Afghan War/Waziristan opponents.

You could, of course do a mashup of Warlord plastic Russians and these pathans, but that means paying double.
-
:-* :-* :-* Great work as usual from Andy Zeck....RIP my friend and hopefully you are painting for the man upstairs!

just buy some Warlord WWII weapon Sprues ;)
or for more modern wars, pick up the Projet Z sprue :

;D

WWII sprues might work, but the Project Z line is discontinued for the time being. There's a few leftovers to be had, but no weapon sprues.

May be on ebay then ???
-
I have abox on the way and do have some bolt action metal rifles and the sprue of WWII British for Burma with the odd arm I can pinch so interested to see what we can mash up.
-
I got a single sprue of these off eBay that arrived today. I needed 4 extra Baluchis for my darkest Africa project and £3.00 for five seemed a better than Foundry prices. My impression are they are ok, as plastics go, they remind me more of the old Wargames Factory miniatures not quite up to the standards or Perry or Victrix but serviceable enough. They are, I think, a tad taller than my Foundry Baluchis (apart from the kneeling guy who appears to be a midget) buy they are skinner and their weapons have much finer proportions.
-
I was thinking of using them to make Bashi Bazouk for an upcoming Sudan game. Do you think they would work?
-
The bodies and jezails would work, you might want to mix in some ACW Zoave heads.
-
A couple of comparison pics.
