If so, please show us your painted figures. And your terrain photos too (finished, WIPs, etc). I could use all the inspiration you can give me.

Hard to respond to two different 'scales' in the same question. HO is 1/87 and too large - in the main - to mix with 15mm (1/120 or so) or 18 mm (1/100 or so). Maybe focus the question better?
War in 15 mm - check out his web page, he has a nice display of Old West figures in 15 mm. I have a vast 15/18 mm Old West collection but none yet photo ready, what is painted and based isn't base textured yet. And the rest that is prepped is just primed. And way, way more that isn't even that far along yet.
15 mm and 18 mm will mix to some degree, Peter Pig and Hovels (especially) on the lower end of the spectrum, Blue Moon and Irregular on the tall end of the spectrum.
HO animals can sometimes be used but they are bigger than even 18 mm.
For 15 mm Old West trains, Peter Pig is the option, track from Freikorps/QRF is a decent option. If you are going with HO trains then there is a range of Old West figures from Knuckleduster that are definitely too big for mixing with 18 mm (I know, I ordered some).

If you save an EBay search for HO Scale Old West Building, there are some nice OOP Kibri kits that can be scored at a decent price if you patiently wait for a good offer to come along. There's a nice lot of 6 ending in 9 hours that you might snag with a sniping bid in the closing seconds of the auction. Thanks. Hence the word “or” in the title.
Also, once you add the height of a washer and the thickness of the figure’s integral base to the equation, little things like “scale” (like using some HO kits with 15mm figures) can start looking a bit more fluid and forgiving:

There’s always the option of making the floor of the building thicker (or thinner) to make things look more “in scale”. It’s one of those situations where, if you can’t raise the bridge, just lower the water. :)

Whatever works is the right answer. Figure "scales" bear no relation to model ratios(1/87, 1/48, etc. are ratios). Figure makers can't even agree on what 15mm, 25mm, 6mm, etc. mean.
Really, what is 15-18mm? Do the figures get taller or shorter depending on the weather, what?

Hmm. I think that, once we retire to sleep, some figures have the ability to change their size and bulk.

PS. By the way, I just discovered a small bag of werewolves I forgot I bought a few years ago (Splintered Light Miniatures and Blue Moon Manufacturing). Now my brain gears are turning in all directions!
