Title: 2mm Napoleonic City
Post by: Forwardmarchstudio on January 11, 2020, 06:43:05 AM
Here's some shots from my 2mm figure range.  I recently painted up a new set of castles walls, gates, and towers.  These are all modular, so they can be arranged in any number of configurations.  I also wanted to get an in situ shot of my palace.

For those in Europe, what do you think?  How's the verisimilitude?  What could I include to made this more realistic looking?  I have some ideas already on what is missing, which you can read about here at my blog:  https://forwardmarchminiatures.blogspot.com/2020/01/2mm-city-experiment.html (https://forwardmarchminiatures.blogspot.com/2020/01/2mm-city-experiment.html)

Feedback welcome!

I like it. Well done. What is the big palace Versailles?

It’s based on the Wurzburg Residence.  I’m going to build some grounds for it out of plastic sheet and 3D printed formal garden.  Should be really cool when I’m finished.  Right now it is too isolated from the rest of the table...

How did you do that nifty little parterre in front of the chateau? I want one too!

That one is 3D printed.  All of these models are part of my figure range, www.forwardmarchstudios.com (http://www.forwardmarchstudios.com).

I'm going to make a series of formal garden sections that can be glued to a plastic sheet for the Neoclassical palace model (also in the figure Library).  A proper set of formal gardens for a palace of that size would be a bit too large for 3D printing, I think. Then again, the palace itself is only about $12 to print online, so maybe not... hmmm....

The current palace is Neo-Classical in style and like I said, not really integrated with the rest of the model.  I'm going to made some buildings based on the earlier period around Versailles to try to fit it into the terrain better.
