It's been a while since I posted any new stuff.
I have been having a real nightmare with these Blitzkrieg Miniatures, constantly flaking paint despite ridiculously lengthy prep and priming.
But I finally got the paint to stick, added some decals and crew figures, dolloped 12mm of Varnish on and they turned out reet nice.

Very nice Ken. Well done. Nicely faded. I know what you mean about the Blitzkrieg resin. A bit tricky sometimes.

Very nice.
Interesting about the Blitzkrieg resin, never tried one of their kits.
-
Very nice work Ken, will be known as the Master of Caunter soon lol
Have lots of Blitzkreig resin but never had that problem (have had it with other resins like JTFM etc)
Only thing I can say is make sure you was it well in warm detergent water then use an etching primer, let dry for at least 24 if not 48 hours before base coating.

Very sharp. 👍

They are pretty nice.

Just out of curiosity Ken were these models in grey resin or off-white?
-
Cheers everyone.
Prep on the models was, washed and scrubbed in hot soapy water, rinsed, dried, primed Matt Black and undercoated. Flaking paint lightly sanded off, soaked in rubbing alcohol, washed in strong detergent, rinsed, dried, primed with plastic primer, primed with normal primer and undercoated again. Still areas flaked. Vallejo Black acrylic primer is the only thing that sticks, about 10mm of varnish holding the rest on 👍
Truscott they were a light grey resin, all slightly different shades but light grey.

Ken - lovely little tanks, well done. Like you, I've had some real problems with the Blitzkrieg models + the ones they make for Perry Miniatures.
Apparently it's some silicone based 'release agent' they spray into the moulds. Yet never a problem with various other makers' resin vehicles. These days I scrub them with soapy water, then when dry use a coat of matt black Plasticote primer. It's enamel rather than acrylic based and that's what you need. Then my acrylic colours go nicely on top of that.

Yeah I ended up using Plastikote primer on JTFM when my normal etching primer didn't work.
Have not bought BK through Perry's only direct and they have all been fine.
Same with Fow Planes.
Very frustrating when you have gone to all that effort to paint them and it flakes off - I feel your pain Ken!

I like these Desert Tanks , Ken , the Caunter paint schemes really compliment them . I’m an occasional visitor to your blog and , although I’m not a WWII fan , I always enjoy it . The relaxed poses of the figures look natural and work well on these smaller AFV,s .

Very inspiring! I just 3D printed out 2 of them in 1:48 scale...now to get these bad boys done. I plan on doing similar as yours for the desert and one for Europe.
Thanks for posting.
