Just saw this on Facebook and their blog....https://wargamesatlantic.com/blogs/news/new-set-announcement-boxer-rebellion?fbclid=IwAR3W1hlJguztkwYskEqp6GpQrfoXSyCbnuA3fQq2-I_1Y5z0BXCe9E-eAe0

Oooh, wonderful. I reckon this box might come in handy for a lot of people! :o While also catering to the historical and pulp themes.
-
Yup, I'll be getting these (still going to keep my Foundry figures though).
They are hoping to do the other nations as well and I sincerely hope they do so 8)
-
Some of these models be usable in the Taiping Rebellion. Not the pistol and rifle armed models though perhaps there are plans for alternate weapons?
-
very good choice..even the section of the production to which they belong "Imperial Conquest" is very promising...i imagine that, in a near future , the figures that depict the masses of soldier's type of the majority of armies will be produced in plastic while the manufactures that produce metal minis will concentrate on personality/accurate/specialist type of soldiers...in that particular case i m also curious in discovering the compability of those Boxers with similar one made by other manufactures ..for example Foundry and OG.
-
Alright! I have my doubts about the rattan shields, though, including the holes at their centres and their not-so-conical shapes.
-
Seems like this company is interesting in plugging the gaps with plastic eg halflings, afghans, persians...what do we think will be next?
-
the bodies of 2 or 3 of those minis, armed and posing as boxers, in fact seem to be usable only as Kansu Braves not really as boxers or other chineese...for what i saw on many picts the uniform with those typical lateral aprons was one of the features peculiar to Kansu Braves appearance.
-
At the very least, more great potential bits for the bits box!
-
Hmmmm, need more Boxers like I need a hole in the head... ok, I’m game.... lol

In their latest poll. They decided to go with Aztec and Conqistadors.

A very surprising result given the choices or perhaps my thinking is a bit Eurocentric?
-
I prefer 100% cotton myself but I can see how these would appeal to fetishists.

in case you're ..you're not alone ;)

Looks interesting, that's for sure!
Does anyone have some size comparison shots of the WA figures with others, like the Perry's, Victrix, etc.??? If so, please share.

Here are comparison shots for their Afghans that will evidently be released for the end of the month (so in time for Salute, if it goes ahead): http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=121675.0 (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=121675.0)

Thanks Littlearmies!!!!!!!! I recognize Andy's brushwork anywhere! The figures do look good painted up and compatible size-wise with the Perry's NWF figs.
-
Maybe also usable for Tonkin versus the French ?
Cuirassier
-
Yes if you mount above all conical hat..in any case the French in Tonkin fought for short period the Annamite Imperial Army but, in the majority of cases, their enemies were the “pavillons noirs” that’s to say Chinese bandits in service of various warlords including the Chinese Gvt. And then , as at Lang Song ecc, the very Chinese regulars ..so definitely you can use those minis for Tonkin
-
That's q very good news...

Good picture...defintivly a useful set..i'm relieved to see in that pict, and differently from the first 3D samples, only one body with the "aprons" that were almost exclusivly sported by the Kansu Braves and almost certainly not in action...so the majority of bodies/minis could be used for both Boxer rebels, Chineese various type of regulars and Pavillon Noirs Chineese bandits...
-
you can always use some more boxers to level to odds
