With our minis from the Deathwatch Overkill game we are close to fielding some forces for gaming the above fan variant of the Dragon Rampant game.
Here are some very old orks from a shoe box up in the attic lol spruced up for use , lots more being dusted off in preparation for a game :)
Thanks for looking in :)

At the 40k stuff again, eh, mate?
I reckon you need help as these things have a habit of snowballing!
;)
Anyway, kidding aside, it is good to see that you are keeping up the good work AND getting some use out of old stuff by redoing it.

Not to mention keeping fit with all these trips to the attic!
:D

Lol
You're correct on all counts Paul :D
These are all my youngest boy's minis, his interest in wargaming is returning following the usual late teen, early twenties hiatus.
We are not 40k rules fans but utilising the minis for other game rules :)
Still dusting off old minis so more on the way :)

Tonight's game, Deathwatch v Orks,
Before the successful mission on Ghorsar Quintus, Chaplain Ortan Cassius served for many years under Captain Artemis on numerous other Deathwatch missions, this one took place on an Ork infested planet, the kill team was tasked to retrieve a servo skull from an installation on the planet and return it intact to their ship, the information held within deemed imperative to the success of the campaign. The Orks, of course, would prefer this not to happen.
A very close game with the Orks initially moving to block the Deathwatch exit route and proving deadly in combat.
However, once the Marines could get off bolter rounds they gained the upper hand, causing courage
tests which if failed meant the Orks had to rally their turn, giving the Marines some breathing space which they used to achieve their objective, but at the sad loss of Captain Artemis's squad who are now sitting at the foot of The Emperor's Golden Throne lol
Pic 1 Deathwatch starting point.
Pic 2 Forces jockeying for position.
Pic 3 Captain Artemis just prior to being squished by an enormous power claw!
Pic 4 Cassius's team at the rendezvous having "gotten to da choppa" with their prize :)

Ok,so we have our hero,Ciaphus Cain,(some weapon swops on an old oop commissar mini) but looking for a suitable aide,Jürgen,to accompany him in our games, suggestions welcome if you have any :)
Thanks for taking time to look in :)

Good stuff mate :)

Looks good! As Jurgen would any of the old imperial guard valhalans do? I remember one being armed with a melta gun which was his weapon of choice.

If anyone has one to sell that they don't need please drop me a pm 😀

Hero? Now let's not get carried away, eh? lol
Moral fibre aside, the conversion is absolutely great.
And although a Valhallan would be sort of correct for Jürgen, the description of his Nurglesque personal hygene suggests maybe using some miniature like a Necromunda Scavvy would be more appropriate... ;)
-
Just had a look and :o he is expensive!

Anything any good there? They also have winter heads similar to the valhalans.
