I am hoping eventually to get into some %e D&D (last played in the days of 2nd Edition in the mid-late 80s).
I am more interested in my old age to role play instead of having a maxed out character.
My idea is for a high elf fighter who has a noble background but has also some sort of weird/traumatic history so that he is a very forceful but unsettling person to be around.
I still see elves with a Tolkien lens and would prefer a figure in mail but to look almost more like a rogue than a fighter. I need him well dressed - not flashy but not ragged - but to be dark and almost sinister looking. Main weapon is a sword.
Alternative may be to have him in a breast plate.
This is one possibility, but would need to be painted very differently:

Perhaps a not-so-over-the-top Dark elf?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Just to add.
He would be mainly a sword and shield fighter, but possibly sword and bow.
Too gamey to have a sword, shield and bow?

There used to be GW's Mordheim High Elf...

A noble, forceful and unsettling Elf? So...an Elf? lol
11 pages of keyword "Elf", as Reaper has finally (after many many years...) built a decent enough search engine into their page:

I like this style, but can't really tell how good or bad the sculpt is:

Ex-Grenadier...? (https://www.battlezone-miniatures.co.uk/shop/category/221) Armorcast makes nice set, too. (https://armorcast.com/ll03206-elven-lord-champion/) Old Fantasy Warlord range from 1990 could fit the bill. (https://www.alternative-armies.com/collections/fantasy-warlord-range/products/21000-elven-hero) (Some conversion potential also here (https://www.alternative-armies.com/collections/fantasy-warlord-range/products/11000-high-elves-5-different-miniatures).)
Below is a photoshop example of a simple conversion what one could make out by just using the AA parts. The shield is a fancy 1950s fairy tales style one, they also make more traditional shields. One could easily change the helmet into a hood with some filing and putty.

Thanks for all the ideas. There are some great miniatures there.
I will need to ponder some more......
