Title: Looking for 15mm StarPort terrain
Post by: RichBliss on April 24, 2020, 06:58:28 PM

I'm contemplating starting a new project that would involve activities around a slightly seedy Starport. The kind of place Han Solo would frequent. Does anyone know of sources for fuel tanks, generators, communication dishes and especially landing pads? MDF is preferable but I'll look at anything

Check Oshiro Model Terrain for all sorts of resin decorative bits, he also does custom commissioned work.

For MDF and bigger scenery items, check blotz.co.uk, TTCombat, Scotia Grendel, Antenociti's Workshop, uncertain scenery, warbases.  There are many!

GZG, Brigade Models and The Scene have suitable bits in 15mm but there's also plenty in 28mm and 6mm that can be repurposed for use too. I've got 6mm from Angel Barracks (now .. from CP Models),  and 28mm from Antenochti and Ainsty that all appear together.

28mmm container from Ainsty, 15mm buildings from Critical Mass Games (OOP), figures from various 15mm ranges.

Ainsty cannisters, Hirst Arts pipework, 15mm figures.

6mm AB walls and wind turbines etc, scratch built water towers. 15mm figure (GZG I think)

Apologies for the Photobucket watermark on these photos, I haven't moved to another host yet.

I would look at Blotz too, as they do 15mm mdf stuff that might help.

Thanks, Etranger. Just visited your Photobucket site - lots of inspiring stuff there.

Another possibility is Ramshackle Games. While officially 28mm, lots of their parts are useful for 15mm - https://shop.ramshacklegames.co.uk/index.php?id_category=20&controller=category (https://shop.ramshacklegames.co.uk/index.php?id_category=20&controller=category)

Lots of scratch building possibilities, have you not considered making it yourself?
Lots of people, like me, would make stuff for you, if you asked.

There's me! bladesandblasters.com

Apart from that I've converted quite a few adobe historical buildings, there's also GZGs excellent building accessories and if you're wanting lots of terrain I'd consider a 3D printer. It's totally changed the hobby for me, especially in 15mm

Indeed,
You really, really should consider doing it yourself.
Very Satisfying and "usually" cheaper & you'll do it to your needs.

All good suggestions ....

You should also consider paper terrain
Like Dave Graffam for buildings & Heroic Games for floor plans.

Here's one I did using Dave Graffam's Watch Station Paper Model. He also has great scifi containers & spaceport terrain also.

I like the crates and barrels from GZG, and computer terminals from khurasan.  Here are some of my ideas:

I appreciate all of the responses.  To clarify my intent a bit:

I can and have scratchbuilt terrain.  However, this is going to be a bit of a side project and I didn’t want to have to scratch build everything I want.  I already have some 15mm desert building that will work for cantinas and basic habitats, but was looks for more space-y stuff.

Also, since I am still working (essential industry, I find myself with some extra money but not extra time, so i hoping to help out some gaming companies and one-person concerns by spending a bit of my gaming budget there.

Hope that makes my intent more clear.

Thanks again for the info.  I’ll be sending in some orders today.

Ok man is using some impressive starport tiles built by spacejacker.  Ockman has added in quite a few nice little touches as well.check out his thread on p. 48!

Micro machine playsets have a lot of Star Wars themed sets. Many of them are Mos Isly & Naboo. They are already in scale for 15mm figures. I have most of them myself.
