Title: Eureka French Revolution and a telegraph station

Borderline swashbuckling, I know. I've been slowly working on painting these with the intention of gaming Italy 1796-7 using Crusader's Rank and File rules but also to fight smaller actions against my RN landing party using Sharp Practice (and possible Song of Drums and Shakos and/or Gloire!). I finally completed the first unit of French and built them a Chappe telegraph station to defend.

Coincidentally I finally got around to watching the Horblower DVDs my wife got me for Christmas and lo and behold the plot involves destroying one of these things!

Do Crusader’s Rank and File Rules ask for specific size basing or you can use your own?

Thanks! They suggest 40x40 for infantry and 50x50 for cav, but as long as both sides are compatible it doesn't really matter. I really wanted four men to a 40x40 base, but had to settle for three men per base to save both time and cash. :-[

Had also the bicorne era on my mind, but back then Eureka wasn't even on the horizon. The semaphore is indeed well executed; built one myself, and it adds flavour to every Napoleonic table. ;)
Looking forward to further expansions.

Thanks fellows. The fun thing about them is that there seems to be so much variety. Google image search on "Chappe Telegraph" and you can get a lot of ideas! After I built this one I realized I could have just made the telegraph apparatus seperate so I could mount it on existing towers and buildings in my groups' collective building collections.

This one is going to be a gift for a friend who regularly hosts our Sharp Practice games after I tart it up a little more.
