Title: New Italian War Machine
Post by: Sinewgrab on May 16, 2020, 06:01:56 PM
So, a good friend of mine gave me a tank he had, that he was no longer using (he had quit playing the game it went with, but forgot to include it when he sold off the army) and I pondered for a while what to do with it.

Then I saw the rivets, and said to myself "Self, this should be Italian".

How odd.

I have no idea why it did that.

That's an awesome Italian super tank.  Perfect for Weird War 2.   ;)

The turret doesn't look right though.
Looks too small - with that size of gun they couldn't fit any ammo in there.

I would probably be more inclined to go with that hull mounted gun and use it as an SPG.

I didn't want to have to figure out some way to cover the hole that would have sufficient rivets.

Honest, lazy, but true!

I have built one with more realistic barrel, easy job. Have to take some pics, one day  ::)

I threw a tape on it, and in theory it scales the same as a gun used in WW2...

...the main gun on the Yamato.

 :o

The "Sturmtiger" carried only 12 rounds for it's 380mm rocket mortar. The rounds needed to be loaded via a trolley rail inside, as they were too heavy to be loaded by humans. The process of reloading a single round took 10 minutes. Getting rounds into the thing needed a temporary crane erected on the back deck. I could see this Weird Italian land battleship needing something like that for its huge rounds.
