Title: Ramblings on Safer at Home and Works in Progress
Post by: photocrinch on May 23, 2020, 11:23:29 PM
Finally had a little time to update the hobby blog. If you have a moment to pop on by do so - it is weirdly interesting I promise!

-You live in a very beautiful place, really enviable!
-You paint flags with a very steady hand, equally enviable!  :)
Cheers!

Funny that you say that.  Looking at my lines on the Union Jack, I was afraid the picture showed off just how wiggly they were!

Flags they are! They wiggle in the air, don't worry!  ;)

Excellent point!  From now on I will just say any wavy lines are intentional!

The basement support pole is impassable. Does it also block LOS?  ;)

I think for a bit of fun I am going to paint it sky blue and then add some little trees at the base, in which case yes, it will block line of sight!   :D

Thanks for sharing, looks like you have been very busy.

Your new office looks good!

Thanks Fred!  The new office was finished up just in time for the stay at home order.  I always thought I would use it as a fun reading space and collection exhibit, never dreamed I would actually have to work there!

The game room and temporary office by the fire have been a great joy!

I actually meant the outdoor office! But that one is super cool.

I realized that as I was typing my comment.  Sometimes I'm a little slower on the uptake these days.  I blame being at home for two months!  In any event I am luck to have a job that I can do from home and dogs to join me by the fire, not to mention a spouse who puts up with my fascination for little toy soldiers!

No worries!

A bit jealous of the size of houses in the US!

Very nicely done.  Re Grahame at GMB - very sadly his mum passed away recently (a fall at home, followed by CV19), so he's had a lot on his plate.

He let me know that last week, and as I didn't want to bother him further, just assumed it would be a while before he could sort through the orders.  I felt terrible when he told me, to have pestered him in the first place.  Brings home how real this pandemic is.  In the New York Times today they listed the names of 1000 people along with short bios, a mere 1% of those who have died in the US, as we just surpassed 100,000 dead due to this horrible virus.  Stay safe out there everyone!

A bit jealous of the size of houses in the US!

Depends on where in the US, etc. My apartment in NYC is just under 1,000 square feet, counting the 12x6 foot balcony. And that's a bg apartment by NYC standards. I have fled to a slightly larger family cottage in Maine to sit out the siege.

Sad news about Grahame's mum.
