Post by: Clearco on June 30, 2020, 01:48:16 PM
Hi fellows! I didn't know who to ask...do you know any reliable and not excessive expensive company to send miniatures to the USA? I'm talking about roughly 3'5 kilos...

Thank you in advance!!

Edit: shipping from Europe (Spain)

I'm afraid I don't. I would also warn you that several UK manufacturers were warning that the shipping cost to the USA from Europe was going to increase massively at the end of June. I don't know why.

Because Mr Trump threatened to pull the USA out of the Universal Postal Union. The compromise agreement means that the USPS charges more for "the last mile" of delivery, and therefore other countries have had to put up their small parcel postal rates to cover that increased charge, with a resulting increase of 40-50%. Letter and large letter postal rates are not affected.

Exactly this - But it also means many smaller companies are having to up their postage regardless on the off chance that someone makes a large order that tips them from £3 odd postage to almost £10.
I believe the USA is not classed as postal zone 3 by royal mail.

Thank you for your answers! I ended up sending it via regular post. It wasn't cheap, but luckily the price hadn't increased yet  :)
