Hi Folks,
I have made three orders of those fantastic minis from Empress and they are taking a long, long, long time to arrive. This is not Empress's fault. They sent the minis quite quickly.
However, the post seems to be especially slow between the US and UK.
The post within the US seems to be pretty quick. My Eureka orders arrived in about a week. Same for orders from Footsore/SASM within the US.
What are your experiences with wait-time ordering to the USA from the UK? And do packages from Empress seem to take a little longer? Just on account of their choice of carrier and level of postage?
I am just trying to figure this all out. No criticism of Empress is implied.

It's just taking a while at the moment. Some packages will arrive in the usual time, some won't. Personally, I haven't seen any increase in missing packages however, just delays.
The Royal Mail International Incidents page includes all the updates for the US since the pandemic started. https://personal.help.royalmail.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5317/~/international-incident-bulletin (https://personal.help.royalmail.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5317/~/international-incident-bulletin)

I've posted one this morning so will let you know when it arrives
(the last one was about 3 weeks)
-
Seems to be three to four weeks for parcels I've sent recently.
-
It does seem to be hit and miss; minis from a LAF'er took about 2 weeks and my order from Element Games took about 6.
-
I've had two recent orders FROM the USA to UK.
First one got here within 2 weeks, but cost a lot (US postal system, HM Gov. & UK Post Office)'
meanwhile the second is at 4 weeks & still counting.
-
I've seen an increase within the US by around 1-2 days, and my latest two UK packages arrived within 7-10 days of shipping. Russia is on full stop, everything is backed up in St. Petersburg for...near on two months right now. I have friends who say Germany isn't shipping to the US still (not confirmed personally).
In general...shipping just sucks right now. People are shopping more online now than ever before....while simultaneously limiting postal services for health concerns. Basically a perfect storm of fuckery.

My May 24th order from Perry Miniatures arrived around June 24, but it's only about a week's difference with pre-pandemic speeds, though I haven't ordered anything from the mainland - usually a longer wait time.
-
My order from Perrys also took exactly a month. I sent a package from US to UK in April. It’s still sitting in Chicago. I filed two inqueries and no answers why thet are sitting there.
-
An Ebay seller tells me he has sent an item but the Ebay advice hasn't changed nor has the USPS advice. (To Oz).
-
For ebay, if the USPS has it it should have scanned it and tracking transitioned to "in transit".
My package from CA to IL took months to arrive - obviously it was parked in some lot or rail yard in between. From MI to IL was 7 days. My current UK package is was 28 days and counting while my previous UK package was 21. Definitely varies greatly.
Edit: My warlord dredd package arrived right after I posted this.
-
Things I ordered took quite a while. At least a month.
That is why I intend, for now, to simply buy from US companies.
-

Left the UK this morning
-
Delivered yesterday, so 11 days, door-to-door..... can't complain at that

I live on the east coast of the US, and ordered a bunch of Prince August molds on 25 April. PA split the order into 4 shipments. Three of them arrived by mid-May, which is pretty ordinary. The 4th box showed up on 16 July, 82 days after placing the order.
-
For the OP...when did the miniatures ship?
I'm in Canada but I've noticed an increase of 1 to 2 weeks on average.
Pre-pandemic orders from the UK were 2-4 weeks for my stuff to arrive.
-
USPS has now lost 2 of my shipments to my UK distributor. Large orders. I got reimbursed for the shipping cost but not product so far.
-
Germany is not shipping to the US as per Stoessi's Heroes, and I was told at the local post office that international orders are being quarantined for two prior to moving them through USPS if they are from certain countries that are "high risk".
She did not like when I asked if that meant every piece of mail locally too.
-
I suspect it depends when it was posted - in lockdown terms. I have heard about parcels ordered later arriving before those ordered at the height of the lockdown. (The first lockdown, I mean). So it seems last in, first out is the way things are working. From the USA to Canada, the timing seems to be about 3 weeks. From the UK, 3-4 weeks. From Russia or Ukraine, a month or more.
-
For the OP...when did the miniatures ship?
It took about 6 weeks to arrive. Oddly, two packages arrived within two days of each other which implied to me that there was a hang-up in the postal system, somewhere, so the second package could catch up with the first.
The boxes were both a little bit beaten up, too. Glad Empress packed the minis with some padding. Good call, guys.
Again, just to be clear and fair to Empress, they packed and shipped quite quickly. They are great just like they always have been!

Thanks everyone for the information. I have a package from Spain ordered about four weeks ago, and hadn't been worrying... but then starter to wonder if it might be a concern. Sounds like it is still within the new average.
The postal entities do have my sympathy!

-
I just had a package arrive in the USA today that I posted 18 days ago from the UK. That was the premium postage with tracking and a signature.
-
I posted some minis from Spain to the states certified mail and it took almost 5 weeks to get there.
-
My order from Spain was shipped on 24 June - so hopefully, soon!

My mother sent a package to me from the UK on July 4. According to the tracking it arrived in Chicago on July 6. It then sat there until July 25 when it started to move again. All it says now is In Transit to Next Facility. Still waiting, hopefully only a few more days.
-
I had a package from CA take a month from arriving in Chicago to actually move to being delivered to the suburbs of Chicago. My last Warlord waited in NY for weeks. All eventually arrived thankfully. Good luck!
-
My Empress Vietnam minis were just dispatched today.
Let's start the clock and see how long it takes from the UK to California.
Can't wait to see these! That Empress thread got me really excited.
-
More delays expected... :-[
Mail delays likely as new postal boss pushes cost-cutting (https://apnews.com/59c25efd4d325c4895f8ba85517f9bfd?)

My experiences lately:
Domestic US to US: has been slowed by 1-2 days generally speaking.
UK to US: Two orders, one was around 9-10 days, the other 4-5 days (the faster one was DHL).
Russia to US: Order from early May is still sitting in Pulkov-3/St. Petersburg along with almost everything else anyone has ordered from Russia in the past 4-5 months. I have heard of some US buyers getting products that shipped in April, so....maybe my time is coming soon.
Estonia to the US: About 20 days. Did sit in Chicago for 3-4 days after arriving which is not typical of international packages normally.
-
My Spanish order came today - so from 24 June to 30 July. I expect it spent most of its time in the U.S. waiting to clear customs or whatever.
-Michael
-
A platoon of British in Iraq was just dispatched from White Dragon yesterday.
Start the timer running....
-
As an aside... a batch of minis from the UK shipped last Thursday and it arrived here in Spain on Tuesday. Geez, I had to wait 6 days! >:( ;)
Thanks though for the info guys... I won't be buying anything from the US or Russia for the foreseeable future.

Still not here, still shows in transit to next facility.
My mother and my aunt shipped packages to my son for his birthday, they showed up in a week and a half. Mine still isn’t here. I told him he doesn’t get his ‘til mine shows up...

I had a package from Russia arrive this week which shipped in April. Hopefully yours isn’t too far behind.
-
My Empress order of Vietnam soldiers (USA and NVA) that was dispatched on July 28 arrived yesterday, 5 August.
That was remarkably quick! Just over a week!
So odd how inconsistent the post is.
I can't wait to open the package and get going on these guys.
I had a slight "delay" making Team Yankee tanks with my son and my buddy's sons. What a great time! Happy, happy kids and I am now "Uncle Tank!"
-
Similar here - parcel posted 27th July arrived 4th August - 8 days. It was the premium Royal Mail service, signed for and tracked (in theory, the RM online 'Track Your Parcel' never actually seems to work) with a normal estimated delivery of around a week, so I'm happy with that.
-
My Russian order finally showed up, a smooth transit time of just under four months.
My second Estonia order arrived under 30 days, about the exact same as last time.
Another UK-USA order arrived quite quickly actually, maybe 4-5 days total which was a surprise.
-
I just had a USA-Oz order arrive after just over 2 months and it was not as described. :-[ :'( :( :(

Oooohhhhh, frustrating.... :o

My last two orders from the UK to the US took about 4 weeks each, where pre-pandemic they averaged 1-2 weeks. The weird thing is per the US Postal Service tracking website the came into the US from the UK and were sent to a customs facility in San Francisco, California, where they sat for a couple of weeks before being sent to me in Tennessee.
-
My wife works for the USPS. They are understaffed, woefully understaffed. The CCA workers, non full time guaranteed, sometimes are asked to work 7,8,9 or more days in a row. I asked how this was legal with labor laws, etc but it’s a post office thing.
Some say politics but this has been building Up a while.
On a side note I had a recent eBay order that took about 2 weeks from the UK.
-
My last package from the UK arrived in Chicago in less than 4 days. Twenty six days later it was delivered to my house 15 miles away. This week a package from KC arrived in two days. Luckily I am not ordering things I really need.
-
Luckily I am not ordering things I really need.
Ooorh! And I thought you really needed those bits from me.
-
I've had some orders sent from the UK in june only just arriving now with the buyers in the US.
4 months.
It hasn't been many ,but enough to not be a one off.it's an odd one because when I get an email about a delayed order I'm torn between asking them to wait a little longer or shipping out a replacement just to be safe.just saying "hold on and hope" feels a bit rude.
-
A parcel from RBJGC in the US was posted on 26th August. Not arrived yet. I thought that was odd but now I have seen this thread I may be waiting a while yet.
-
Ooorh! And I thought you really needed those bits from me.
Well that isn't a timely need but more of a can't live without it eventually gaming 'need'. Hence why I had to buy it. :D

Well, enjoy them & look forward to (more) normal times returning.
