Years ago, 3 or 4 I guess, I built a Viking village and chronicled my efforts in the Workbench section, I was fortunate to get lots of good advice there and finished the project. I then played a game and posted it on here http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=97032.0 (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=97032.0) and yesterday I made a new board 2' sq from some material I had bought and then laid out part of the village and got some of the Vikings out of their storage and took some pictures.
This is the first time these chaps have been in daylight since 2017, they must really hate me, so to cheer them up I'm posting a few pictures here. If you look at the old post I would be interested to see if you think the new board base is an improvement on the previous one.
Cheers

Not as picturesque as the rest of it but the heart of the village, the midden and cabbage patch.
Well maybe not.

Just before they charged to contact.
I shall go and see how they are going on, there's a hell of a din in the gaming room at the moment.

Thanks guys, I much appreciate your encouragement.
Michi your Vikings must be very bold indeed if they will risk their lives for a few cabbages. ;)

Nice thread, some nice ideas here.
Tell me, what is this structure?

Nice village :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

Ragnar, you've got me there, I don't know, I got it in a box of lead, it's some sort of wooden frame, I imagine it's a bit like the village stocks, somewhere to fasten miscreants for public humiliation, but I could be totally wrong. It didnt have a figure with it, so it could be a drying frame for animal skins or anything else your imagination comes up with.
For me it's just a bit of scatter terrain to make the village look lived in..

Sorry not had internet for a few days, Argonor will raid Uppsala as soon as I've built the church for him to burn down, 3 and a half years and counting, but one day it will happen, he will get his revenge. >:D

I was pleased with the heath and moor look and easy to do. I have quite a few 1' sq tiles that I would like to do in the same manner, if only I could remember where I got the material from :?

Love it! I really like how it all looks. How do you store your boards?

Mike they are just stored upright on their edges in an old box, this one because of its size will be on it's edge under the table .I've found if they are near vertical they don't warp.
They are rough and ready boards and I don't have grasses and shrubs built into the board that is added on table so I don'tneed to be too careful with storage.
Cheers.
