Over the past few weeks I've been playing a large solo game based on Dave Brown's scenario in his The Hundred days scenario book published by Reisswitz by the Too Fat Lardies.
As is usual with megalomania, I expanded the scenario somewhat and added a few bits with not too much additional thought having the ability to take full liberty as this was a solo game using Dave's superb General d"Armee rules. I think I started it during lockdown here in NZ starting the game in the first week of May. I left it to one side after playing a few turns to finish painting some AB Russian infantry and cavalry before picking it up and eventually finishing it last week. I've written it up, here's part 1 with part 2 having been written but in need of photographs being added.

No small part is because of your ability to write such playable rules Dave!
Part 2 now completed
Will Wellington do a Nelson and call for a red coat or brown trousers? :?

Hi,
Thanks for the write up!! The table looks awesome!! And very jealous you have the space to play it. I'm currently putting together 6mm armies to play Quatre Bras using GdA. With the extension plan out to Waterloo eventually! I really like the rules. And it is nice to see the fate of poor Bylantt's brigade is nearly historically replicated.
Your play through does bring up an interesting what if. What might have happened if the French had properly supported D'Erlon with cavalry!!
But I have one question. What rating are the Saxe-Weimer's troops and the Hannoverians? Sometimes I did wonder if the reason they often don't hang on all day as they did historically is because we from an English perspective rate them too harshly.
The big question is what next? Boridino? Leipzig? ;)
Best,
LS

Apologies for the late response LS
Morale for Bylandt's troops were
7th Line- reservist
27th Jaeger - line
5th, 7th and 8th militia - recruit
Artillery line
Saxe- weimar = all reservist with artillery rated as line
Best wishes
and as for next - maybe the Hougoumont side of the battle if I can summon up the energy

Lovely stuff as always VB!
And I always find that it's best to never apologise to Dave for anything.
