Title: 40mm French Russian Napoleonic
Post by: 10thMountain on August 08, 2020, 11:04:39 AM
Hello,
Has anyone gamed the French/ Russian campaigns of the Napoleonic Wars in 40mm?

Perhaps not then!
A shame as I am contemplating the jump up to 40mm (its an age thing) and S&S do the figures.

I too have developed a hankering for 40mm,
but did not want to duplicate anything I already have.
That rules out a lot of 40mm ranges, unfortunately.
I was thinking of using the Spencer Smith (1830s?) figures
for a Ruritainian (fictional) middle European small war.
Well if nothing else one regiment will look nice on the shelf.

I like the look of Spencer Smith Miniatures. Very tempted by the Franco Prussian range. Not sure if they are a bit too 'toy soldier'. Obviously smaller than 40mm but less detail so end result is the same.
But I, also, have a hankering for the Sash & Sabre Retreat from Moscow range. They do a pack of 20 'frigid' French and each one is different. And also greatcoated Russians. Trying very hard not to visit Old Glory. Well at least tonight anyway.
