Excellent tutorial.

I think I can already hear the cries of middle class amateur gardeners ‘Oh look a potager!’ :)

once again, i'm happy to be helpfull on the LAF  ;).

You can add some grass or bush to make it better.

Those look really great!

For smaller scales, like 1/300th - 1/144th, you can use beige, or brown corduroy material to make fields.  Just cut to size, and you are done.

Drybrush, the tops of the ridges green, if desired.

the picture sample is a 28mm Trent miniature next the Kitchen garden.

One great advantage is that the field is soft and flexible so it can follow a hill contour easily.

Next step : An enclosed field.

Love the results but does anyone know of a similar material in the U.K.?

The closest I can find is the plastic pan scrubber pads but they are too thick and very inflexible.

there is no Action shop in UK so that could be a little more difficult.

 o_o

The green carpet is fixed into the map in linear lines giving the ideal final rendering for the plowed field.
the green looks like felt when cut with the dog clippers
