Title: Suitable minatures for gaming SAS in Oman
Post by: elysium64 on August 22, 2020, 12:49:09 AM
I am looking for models to represent SAS in Oman, particularly Mirbat and the opposing Firqa guerrillas preferably 28mm, but will go to 20mm.
The best I have found so far are the Aden range from Eureka, but will still need some converting.
Thanks

Well, if you are happy to do some conversion work then there are useful figures in Eureka’s Rhodesian range and Empress’ Vietnam Australuans.

Under Fire miniatures have a great range of 20mm Rhodesian Figures who would look the part. They also do some RhSAS in 28mm, a tad taller than Eureka, but could be useful in a mish-mash of conversion parts.

Off topic, sort of.  Many years ago, I actually set up the Battle of Mirbat, but in post WWI Mesopotamia,  using Frontier British in colonial kit, and assorted Arabs as the opposition. It was a great game.

Hi, I've just received a parcel from Warbases, and in it was an advert for Commando Miniatures which they stock. The blurb says "28mm miniature wargame figures for post WW2 British Conflicts such as the Aden Emergency and Indo-Malaysian Confrontation". When I saw it I recalled your question. May be worth a look?  You could also see if they plan to extend the current range.
