Well, it is where I live anyway. The birch seeds have been flying around for a few weeks and now (aided by the high winds) the scales are falling off the catkins from the trees and landing on the ground. Where? Anywhere near to a birch tree I suppose. They're all over my patio and all through the house as well, having blown in through the windows, so there must be at least one nearby. Keep your peepers peeled for these lovely free basing materials.

Wonderful stuff, but I haven't made a dent in the 4 tubs I collected last year.

Yes ... that is an issue.

I have to pay for them. No natural source near me. :?
The good news is that the small container I have should be roughly two lifetimes worth of hobby materials for me. :D

Thanks for reminding me. I think I shall plug in the hoover to an extension cord and vacuum the street outside the neighbours who has two stately birches just inside the fence.

None near where I live now either unfortunately. Definitely looks useful.

Oh a german channel did make a video on it. They come in handy cloves(?) bunches (?) that you can pick off birches or from the ground thereunder.

Have a birch in my garden, so I did pick a few! :)

Remind me next time I send you a parcel to add a bag for you.

I'm using them birch seed all the way. You can also dye them green to have a fresher look, a bit jungle-ish. Anyway I apply a generous coat of ova after glueing the seeds to the base, as they tend to crumble and drop off.
