I just backed this new Colonial horror skirmish game. It's technically set in Salem and there are pledge levels with new laser-cut buildings of the Salem Meeting House and other kits by Things From The Basement, (I'll be running my games in Sleepy Hollow).
I went for the hard-copy rulebook and cards; there are also options for pdf and app assisted.

Looks an interesting approach to the genre. Shame the (vital) cards are not included with the pdf option as a minimum $30 shipping to EU is excessive for a $40 game.

The app can handle random factors like the dice rolls and the cards which are built into it.
I'm a purely analog girl myself, but fortunately I don't have to pay international shipping on this KS. I've had to pay my dues on others though.

Tempted... The $30 shipping is not great for the hard copy rules. Also there isn't an option for both the buildings and the French/Wabanaki card expansion decks.

Hmm, probably an oversight. I'll query that in the KS comments.

Yes, that was indeed an oversight. The Village Level does indeed include the expansion decks, an update has been posted.

I also remain a supporter of physical components at the game table, pdf's are OK to read and familiarise yourself with rules but for play only a hardcopy will do.
Cards as part of the app will presumably work for those who like that sort of thing, but unless they are included as separate files that can be extracted and printed off you are tied to using the app (which is of no interest to me).
Generally the pdf version of a game is a complete "Print your own" version, this one does not seem so.
IMHO the great advantage of a PYO version of games is that you can chop out all the fluff and generally second rate fiction and just print the useful rule stuff.

Confirmed in KS comments, the pdf does not include PYO cards.

I just read that and won't be supporting this, thanks for asking the question anyway.
But as it has just funded they don't need my money anyway.

Is there an example of gameplay? Seems interesting but I want to know more about the rules

There is a vid that had been posted on Facebook a few weeks ago:

Thanks for the link! :)
the game concept looks cool but the app mechanics look a bit clunky and redundant.
I am assuming you can play the game with dice and cards and ignore the app if you want to?

Yes, it plays just fine with dice and cards, and I will certainly be ignoring the app! Some folks like that sort of thing, including the designer and others.

Just got an update with some improved shipping costs to the UK if that helps anyone:
"Sergeant is $12 & the Witch Hunter is $20."

The Witch Hunter pledge may also be charged £14-40 (approx $18) by UK customs, probably because of the cards .

Down to the last 48 hours, might get a few more bonus figures unlocked!
