Been away a while, thought I'd try my hand at a few old favorites...

Will they be available for sale? The Aphid has been one of my favorites.
Ever since I first saw a picture of it.

It’s a lot more work to make directions and efficient cutting sheets, but it could happen if there is demand for the ‘Mozzy’.

Lovely! I'm looking forward to these!

Any thought of a ship like the Hullcutter?

If not, I may try to convert an Omura to sails.

Most hull cutters I’ve seen don’t have sails.  Some do, but it I think the Omura gets you pretty close.

Thanks mate, I’ve been sitting on it for years not wanting to step on others toes, but I wanted one for personal stuff so I thought I’d finish it off.

I’m quite proud of it despite what some think of MDF ships.

The other ship is a Martian runabout I fooled around with.

Where's the runabout?

Hey Sinew,

I put a couple months worth of effort into finalizing the Mozzy only to have someone follow me around and post a similar release everywhere I announced.  Unfortunately it’s made me a bit guy shy of putting more effort into the project.  I’m afraid the runabout is not likely to see the final push.  I think I’m putting my efforts into something grander that won’t be followed so easily.

Wow.  Such low life stalkers should not be given the pleasure of knowing they’ve intimidated you.  Keep posting, no matter what.

Intimidated is the wrong word, tired is better :) probably compounded with general stress in the US at the moment.

I’ve got the design bug again, so I’m researching and working on something now. I won’t be showing anything until it’s finished, which is a shame as I like to get feedback along the way.  This has always been a great, safe place for my hobby. I’ll be back in a bit with something cool.

Seriously?  Oh, for crying out loud.

Some people's kids.

Well, I think your creations are pretty damned neat, so I'm going to be gravitating towards another couple vessels in the future.

I’ve still got the runabout files, I’ll shoot you the bits, bet you could work out how they fit together without my fancy instructions. Send me PM with your address.

Hang in there Fergal. Your ships are fantastic! As much as I'd look forward to updates, you'd be better off finishing a ship before announcing it so a competitor can't steal your ideas.

I had a brain fart when I typed Hullcutter.... I should have said kite.
I'm a couple months from retiring and am looking forward to finishing my kits.
Be well, stay safe...

It is very unfortunate that both models just happened to come out at the same time.  The other had been in the works for several months too, as these kits don't whip up over night.  I had put in the request for it back at the start of July and work began on it then.  There had been some WIP photos posted on Facebook.  It came out right on its planned timeline.  Had I known the Mozzy was actively in the works, I would have happily waited for it rather than requesting the other one.

I've got and love the Furious and the Audacious for the centerpieces of my squadrons for running participation games at the Watch City Steampunk Festival and various gaming conventions where enough space can be wrangled.

Thanks Fergal for posting the pics here.  The Mozzy kit was a pleasure to put together and paint, as were the Aberdeen and the Omura.  The weapons are from Houston’s Naval Guns at The Virtual Armchair General, and the figures are a mix of RAFM, Redoubt, and Old Glory.  The figures were painted by Fernando Enterprises.

That makes two British gunboats and a Martian screw galley built, painted, and ready for the game table.  I’m working on the German gunboat Frederick now, and when it’s done they will ally with the Martians to stop the British imperialistic expansion on Mars.  I’ll post pics when we finally get to play a game.
