I am working on a large and broken up resin Chinese house that I bought on eBay years ago and has resided in a drawer in my wargames bunker ever since. I am not sure of the manufacturer (Snapdragon?)but it was originally a large and robust building in two parts. I received it in rather more than two pieces and even the extremely robust roof was pretty battered. I got the house glued back together and spackled in and have sanded most broken areas on the roof and base.

Still the building was so beaten up that I decided that I needed to make some replacement screened windows and a door.

I am also going to replace the exterior framing with balsa. Here is a start on one side.

Still lots to do but it is starting to come together.

promising looking reclamation and refurbishment project.
Look forward to see the property fully restored :)

Can't remember any Snapdragon Chinese buildings, but their resin always seemed very distinctive, but I do have some similar looking buildings that I think originated with Monolith?

Also, if you want window gratings that are different from the plastic mesh, I recently got some laser cut doors & windows from Martin at Warbases.
-
Thanks Fastolfrus! I remembered that someone did the lasercut windows but couldn't remember who.

Thanks fellas. I have completed all of the framing, doors, and windows for the building. I also did some spackling and sanding but not too much. Fastolfrus I decided to stay with my mesh windows because the mail has gotten so slow out to the islands that it might have been months before I received nicer laser cut windows.

I worked on the roof as well but I see from this photo that there still is some more sanding to do.

Next up is to do a little last minute sanding and to cover with a layer of diluted Elmer's glue.

Nice work Lon :-*

Martin does quite a few different window & door frames, but I also sent him a couple of photos to get some custom made a few weeks ago

All painted up and ready for my table. My Chinese terrain continues to grow and improve.

It is great to have this in one piece and out of my bits drawers where it has resided for years. I doubt that I would have bid on it now with the prohibitive costs of shipping large resin pieces (the roof alone has to be a couple of lbs). Next up some Oshiro Chinese walls, gate, and a shed. Hopefully another Chinese building purchased on evilBay will turn out to be the right scale so I can continue to take over my portion of the dining room table, to my wife's ire ;)

Nicely refurbed indeed.
Hope the evilbay purchase comes out as well as this.

Good recovery.

Looks good Lon :)

Thanks fellas! I am waiting for some additional walls from Oshiro to arrive and then you will see this house again in a larger context.
-
How long did the others take to arrive?

James,
Usually 2 weeks but these are not normal times within the US Post Office.
