Inspired by Gamer Mac's thread I started printing my own mechs at 15mm scale. Troops are 15mm Khurasan for scale.
-
Nice 8)
-
Looking good :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*
-
That scale works perfectly! You can really feel the "ground-stomp" experienced by the infantry standing next to the mech.
-
Nice. I'd love to see some of the bigger mechs at that scale.
-
Oh, I'll be posting them. Painting a Wolverine now. It's next step up Medium, But I have a few Assault mechs. They look grand at this scale.

That looks really cool! You guys and your printers... ;)

Exactly! :-*

Nice one Jay! 8)
Are you planning on using Battletech rules or is there a Fist Full of Epic Lead coming? ;)
-
Battletech is a fine game, but doesn’t hold up to dozens of mechs on the table. I have great nostalgia for it. I don’t need to write new rules, I have Bigger Battles. I’ll be building the mechs using the Starfighter rules. Just making a few new weapon types.
-
WOLVERINE!
-
Looking good how does it scale up to the locus?
-
I've got another one I want to paint up then I'll do a group shot. So far they've been scale to each other. I've been blowing up the 6mm 250%, so as long as the source files are right, mine are. I had to fudge the Thunderbolt to get it on the printer. Only 240%
-
Very nice.

You could always try Alpha Strike, it is designed for larger battles (company+ per side)
-
Yep. Played Alpha Strike many times.
-
That Wolverine is super butch, very cool.
-
Very nice! I think 10mm and 15mm are the best scales for sci-fi if you want to get big tanks and robots onto the table and still have nicely detailed infantry.
-
Great stuff.
Where do the models come from. Self 3D printed?
-
yes, self printed. The internet is a magical place.
-
Thunderbolt!
-
Brill :)
Love the camo 8)
-
Has anyone here tried Horizon Wars? That seems like a simple, solid set of rules for this sort of combined arms game.
-
Tried. Did not like. Besides, I have my own. ;)
-
I like the idea of using the Starfighter rules for mech combat. That works much better than Galactic Heroes due to the rules for multiple weapons, hard points, and so forth. The movement mechanics also seem to replicate the feel of a big stompy robot as well.
Will you allow infantry to use more freeform movement? It might be interesting, and help give them a more distinct flavor in the game.
-
I mentioned this one the FB page, but I have been "building" the mechs using Starfighter rules. I'm messing with some truly Battletech type missile rules they still stay FfoL. On the subject of infantry,I've been trying it 2 ways. In Bigger Battles as a 5-6 stand unit, or used them like fighters in the Fleet scale Starfighters rules. It's all a matter of how you wan to portray them.
-
Lovely photo of the Thunderbolt, tank and infantry! :-*
When these folks hit the battlefield it will ooze Battletech!
Once again... great project!
-
Group shot with the Marauder added. Lore says no one knows how to manufacture Marauder armor anymore so Marauders tend to have a pieced together look. I'm using DP( Gears as the armored up battlesuits of the infantry.
-
Very nice
like the wee battlesuit
-
The Gear suits actually look the right scale,
-
Excellent work... and the whole group works very well together too :) .
-
That Marauder is awesome, great job.
-
He’s HUUUUUUUGE.
-
Those are awesome.
Have you had the chance to game with them?
They'd stomp my Neo-Sov Brigade lol
-
Great work.
Thanks for sharing
Keep it up

What you see is one player's command (minus the rest of the infantry and heavy suits). I regular play with 6-8 players . So no.
But I have scribbled some notes for specific Battletech things like Heat Build Up and unguided missiles.
-
Fantastic! :-* Got to agree the smaller suit looks spot on! What Marauder model is that? Syllogy? I made the mistake of trying to reduce the 28mm Gambody one! Enough to say....it didn't go to plan. Falling off the table and smashing into a thousand pieces couldn't have helped either mind you! ::)
-
Yes, Syllogy. Had to cut him in two with Meshmixer to fit on the print plate. But you can barely see where I did. They're all solid pieces.
-
I couldn't figure out how to 'plane split' that model. Any hints? If you try to cut it horizontal through the middle, the guns get in the road. If you try to cut the arms off, the legs get in the road! ???

Was Dave playing ::)
-
Split Right below the guns.
-
Ta much Jay!
-
Got the files, wll have a printer very soon. I will go certainly smaller, but your beasts of mechs are truely inspirational, Sir!

Beginnings of Recon force for rival force.
-
Superb stuff. Where is the tank from, please?

The venerable Urban Mech. Call sign "Karl".
-
Now off the factory floor: the Rifleman. 15mm troops for scale.
-
That’s a great re-imagining of the Rifleman, it has all the components that were in the old Macross design, but with a different aesthetic. I think I actually like this one better (which is unusual, as I grew up with the Macross version and don’t like most of the Battletech re-skins).
The paint job is great too!
