This was the oddest thing. I was actually looking for another publisher with a very similar name and my Google search led me to this:
https://www.staugustine.net/our-books/books/the-river-war/
My eyes quickly became saucers, as TRW is probably my favourite Colonial campaign book ever, and all I have is a ratty paperback. The price is puckering, but the temptation remains strong. Anyway, thought it might be of interest to some of you!

That price is daunting! :o :o

I couldn't agree more. But I'm still tempted!

Nah..... the paperback is £10.99 on Amazon and I'm not a book collector as such (re: sort of not lol )

If you just want to read the text, and don't care about owning books as pleasing objects, Project Gutenberg have it online for even less than that, Atheling: £0.00.

You live and you learn. I've had a copy of the book for a few years and have yet to dig in. It's in the pile but the pile just keeps on getting larger lol

I think you'll be pleased if/when you do. It's just so inspiring (my biggest fear about rereading it is that I'd find doing a Sudan project, again, irresistible), and man, could he turn a phrase!

Too much to do and too much to read at present. As for diving back into the Sudan- it's too late for me!
