The new Oathmark plastic Skeletons are out this November.
They have been designed by Michael Anderson, and when he got the first test frames he immediately got them painted and photographed.
Here they are, they look totally ace.
-
Love the metal effect he's got 8)
-
Nice!
-
I'd also like to know the formula for the metal, heck even for the bone. I feel my skeletons end up too white, too bright.
-
So good.
-
That metal looks incredible.
-
I have been off plastics for a while, but I actually like these.
-
Fantastic painting on those guys. Lookin' good.
-
Nice painting.
They look like they will cover my skeleton needs for Frostgrave and Oathmark.
Not so keen on the shield design (hint: some variant plastic shields for the whole range would be useful).
Will there be a Nickstarter?

Definitely would buy some alternative shield designs as well! Maybe some big sprue of alternative shields usable with all factions?

They're dead. Why can't they work with any faction?
-
Frame of variant plastic shields. :o
Oh aye, 8 to 10 thousand pounds on a steel tool of plastic shields so people can go 'oo one of those please, and erm, one of those too'. lol
no no no. The cost aside, there is a long waiting list with the plastic factories, I need to get new figures in the queue long before a frame of shields.
Fireforge have got around this with a line of resin shields.
Shields aside, that photo of the skeleton archers has become the most popular picture on our Instagram page, in less than a day. https://www.instagram.com/northstarfigs/ (https://www.instagram.com/northstarfigs/)
I've never done a Nickstarter for Oathmark. Not a lot of people know that. I've always done pre-order deals though, thought I'd start this one for the skeletons on Halloween. How cheesy 8)
-
I was thinking of alternate shields for all the species.
Human skeletons would of course use human shields.
-
Can’t wait for these, really useful.
-
Ahwsum, sir! I really like that at last someone had the idea that skeleton warriors must be from an older culture and made thwm Bronze Age.
Great. Really great.
-
They're really tempting, I think I may have to have a go at some of these.

New models for Oathmark sound equally great! No matter some of our extravagant fancies, you and your team sir are doing a marvelous job! :D

Are these multipart or single part? Warlord's Erehwon skeletons have separate heads, arms, torso, legs and feet.
While this is probably great for posing, I'm not looking forward to the surface area available to take glue or to trying to keep them together whilst gluing.
Are these guys the same, or are they in fewer, sturdier parts?
-
I really like those too, they look like they would 'fit' visually with a lot of the old Citadel classic skeletons. I have a box of unopened Warlord Skeletons that I picked up for bits, but these might be very useful for actually bulking out my skeleton horde.

If you look on the North Star site there are sprue shots on their Twitter feed (you do not need Twitter to see it).
The sprues are similar to other Oathmark sprues:
Five different bodies, five sets of hand weapons, spears and bows. Five bare and five helmed heads.
Have a look.
Hopefully someone can post the sprue shots here.

Thats me
-
Thanks.
-
Dangit. I recently finished a large collection of skellies from other companies now I have no choice but to paint these as well! Not cool Northstar.
-
Thanks. Those look much easier to work with :D
-
These look spectacular. I like that you've gone for (what looks to me like) more of a NW European look to the arms & armor - they'll go nicely against some of the other more Greek-inspired minis already on the market!
Can't wait to get some of these guys.
-
Bronze Age Britain & Ireland is a big interest for me so these guys are spot on and a must buy. The metal character minis are great too so I will be picking them up as well.
As a couple of others here have said the BA vibe is a great idea for skelies so they really feel part of the past plus it gives me loads of options for converting up some living BA warriors too.
I know some people dislike the shields but I think they look great and while I don't recognise any BA shields I've seen before they very much have the feel of them.
Nick, will we be seeing chariots and cavalry at some point too?
-
My first love back in the day for warhammer was the undead. I sold that army years ago. And have not really played much fantasy for years.
But these have really rekindled an old spark. I could do with a small'ish undead host. I think I deserve it.
-
You do indeed sir.
Yeah I think these skelies have the same feel as the classic GW plastic skeletons.
-
And to think, just the other day I was thinking "I need some bad guys for my OGAM Celts to fight, I can manage a couple of Fomorians, but I wish I had some undead troops to bulk them out..."
Bob must have been good this week, as Kindly Uncle Nick has read his thoughts and provided! lol
-
These are going to be so so good.
-
Look really good :o
-
I'm really liking those. After a bit of a dry spell, we're being spoit with cool skeleton plastics these days. :)
-
The metal characters to accompany the plastic figures.

I think GWs have Bronze Age feel to them
-
Quick question for the barbecue chef; will we be getting skeletal cavalry at some point?

Uhh..
A uhmm friend of mine wants to know that too.
-
I think on Northstar's FB page some one asked and was told that cavalry and chariots were planned...got my fingers crossed.
I think GWs have Bronze Age feel to them
Nah, no Bronze Age there apart from maybe one shield, the rest is more medieval.
-
I can never get enough of plastic skellies, and the metal ones look nice too!
You know what. I reckon you could use these in Frostgrave as an all skeleton band, some of those metals look like knights and barbarian types.
-
Those plastic fellows look quite nice, as do their metal cousins. Haven't painted any skellies in a while - looks like I will soon have to.
-Michael
-
Really love these!!! The metals are very nice too
-
These are exactly what i need for my winter fantasy bronze age collection. Timing is perfect.
-
I've always had a whimsy for undead skellies- these might make me take the plunge, they look lovely!
-
So...what's a "Nickstarter"? I assume some sort of crowdfunding campaign?
-
A Nickstarter is more or a pre-order with a few extras thrown in as the total climbs...at least I think so as I haven't taken part in one yet.
-
Yep, just a fun pre-order campaign. Sometimes they throw in extra goodies if they get a certain amount of orders.
