Title: Fistful of lead Bigger Battles Byzantines vs Sassanid Persians
Post by: williamb on October 20, 2020, 06:12:08 AM
Our club played its first game of Fistful of Lead Bigger Battles with an encounter set in the sixth century AD featuring Byzantines vs Sassanid Persians.  The result was a victory for the Byzantines. https://18clovehamhock.blogspot.com/2020/10/fistful-of-lead-bigger-battles.html (https://18clovehamhock.blogspot.com/2020/10/fistful-of-lead-bigger-battles.html)    (https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mU65ffokjWE/X45wT63QwKI/AAAAAAAAEQM/2aad4fMRPT4cg3Bfup_zmt-jUcBpdE2JQCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/20201018_131551.jpg)

How do the game mechanics differ in 'bigger battles' than in proper FFofL? I'm getting the ruleset for Crimbo so would appreciate a heads up, will anything need re-basing for example?

???

Harry, as usual FfoL is a tool box. Basing up to you. No need to rebase. Mechanics are the same. You ate just playing with 5-8 units instead if 5-8 miniatures. Check out the blog for more info.

As Jaye mentioned the mechanics are basically the same.  There are some differences in how traits and commanders (similar to leaders work and a few other things due to using units instead of individuals.   We just used the figures that we already had based without changing them.  Groups of individually based figures can be used.   We had one new player in the game who had little or no miniature gaming experience and he caught on quickly.
