Title: Pikes, Muskets and Flouncy Shirts in 10mm
Post by: Battle Brush Sigur on October 28, 2020, 09:57:24 AM
Here's a snapshot of what I'm currently working on: Pendraken's whole 10mm ECW range for their web store.

Hope you like them so far! So far the cavalry's done (including commanders), infantry's done as well, right now I'm painting artillery and then I'll do specials like scenic bits, peasants, civilians (that's a cool little set). They'll look much nicer once there's green fuzz on the bases too of course.

Brilliant  :-*

They do look delightful little figures, especially the horse.

They look excellent 👍

Which ruleset are you going to use?

A group in Ottawa that I occasionally game with have tried - unsuccessfully so far - to work out an ECW version of Regimental F&F.

Wow, many are individually based. Cool.

@Captain Bloody: Indeed. :) The cavalry's been redone over the past years and even nicer now.

@Mindenbrush: Thanks! Personally I'm a Thirty Years War gamer, but most rules sets which cover that also cover ECW of course. My current favourites are Twilight of Divine Right and In Deo Veritas. Both very fun rules sets and I can't for the life of me decide which one I like better. In late August I even played the same battle using both rules to decide which one I like better - still impossible. I also really like Baroque (based on Impetus) and I'd love to give Tilly's Very Bad Day a try soon. If you're interested in my TYW gaming exploits, you can read about them here: https://www.tabletopstories.net/language/en/?s=pike (https://www.tabletopstories.net/language/en/?s=pike)

@Inkpaduta: Yeah, they'll be on their online store, so they have to be single-based. Quite odd, as I'm used to larger units of course. :D

They look a bit nice!

Persuade Leon to have the group shots on the website!

I’m liking the big mortar thing, will have to add that to my ECW forces

@OSHIROmodels: Thanks very much! :)

@Captain Blood: Oh yes, they are. Excellent figures.

@fred: Cheers! I'll try. :D Yes, the siege mortar was news to me as well. My 10mm TYW collection grew quite a bit in 2019, but I may have yet to add some more stuff...

The figures are with Pendraken now and are being photographed now. Very excited to see them on the webstore!

They will look great there and I'm sure they will help sales.

I refuse, however, to look!  ;)

Thanks for the reply on the rule, I will take a look at the ones you mention - TYW is also an interest for the group I game with 👍.

Nice work on the figures.

@Ray Rivers: Wahey, that was fast! :D Thanks for the heads up! (I too kinda refuse to look, because I'm worried they might look not-nice close up and personal)

@DintheDin: Thanks very much! Well, the figures are bloody detailled. :D

@Frostie: Thank you!

@Leon: Thanks for making these! :D

@Mindenbrush: Cheers, it's what got me into historical wargaming actually! Well, apart from all the other factors. But it was the first period I did when getting into historical wargaming. Absolutely fascinating period/conflict.
