Title: Decals for 5th "Viking" German SS Panzer Division
Post by: dberna67 on November 27, 2020, 01:54:20 PM
Hello,

I'm looking for 1/56 scale decals for the 5th "Viking" German SS Panzer Division

I searched but the only one that sells them is Rubicon Models and they are together with other panzer divisions (so I would only use 1/5 of the decals present).  :( :(

You can help me?

regards
Davide

As far as I'm aware the Rubicon set is the only 1/56 set available. I'd be inclined to grab the sheet and then either put the extras away for a future product, or try and on-sell them individually on the marketplace here.

Your other option would be to try some of the various custom decal mobs, although be aware this may set you back a pretty penny.

Try to look at the decals for 1/48 models. I think the difference in the size of the picture in this case will not be critical.

I often use 1/72nd  decals for my 1/56th vehicles they generally look more accrate i  scale. I wouldn't  use 1/48th as they would be too big.

If the image on a real tank was 10 cm in size, then in scale it should be:
1/56 = 1.79 mm
1/48 = 2.09 mm
1/72 = 1.34 mm
Which option is closer to what you want?

You can use decals for a different model than the one intended by the manufacturer. For example, you can look at decals for a truck, motorcycle, etc. They come in a variety of sizes and might be perfect for your model.

I'm using Rubicon and Bolt Action vehicles.
In you opinion is it better to use 1/48 or 1/72 decals? I'm not an expert so any suggestion is welcome

I entered the world of decals in 1/72 and I did not imagine that there were so many possibilities. Maybe even too many  :o

I found in addition to these other decals in 1/48 but each sheet allows a single vehicle. I would need almost 20 ....

Last found (1/72 and 1/48):

but I can't find quality photos to understand what white signs are
