It's hot. Damn hot. August in the congo bassin is like hell on earth. One wrong step might be the last you ever take. There are the big cats. Lions, Leopards, Cheetahs. Fierce Gorilla Silverbacks protecting their females from every trespasser. Elephants, water buffalos or Rhinos trampeling down everything in their way. Venomous snakes, hostile natives and the most annoying plague of all, mosquitos. Clouds of Mosquitos. How can anyone survive in an environment like this?
Watch here for more. Only today. Live from Africa.

Beautiful table, really atmospheric photo, Perfect.

Here's more
-
Lost City
-
native Village
-
Six parties participate in the game: Grimms American Expedition, Poliorketes' Baluchi Slavers, Doomhippies Rogues, Lurchs' british Sailors, Witchhunters German Adventurers and Grenadier Christians Sikhs. And Driscoles as Game master.
In the first turn, Poliorketes was hailed as new king of the congo (take a look at the left!), while Grenadier Chris shot a <lion! Otherwise nothing important happened, just the usual deaths from sickness or native attacks.
-
Glorious. Absolutely glorious.
-
Beautiful table and figures ! :o
-
On turn two, german Flintenweiber start shooting at everything moving - resulting in a rather ineffective firefight with british sailors with only minor casualties on both sides. Grimm found one lousy diamond, Lurch found out the hard way not to stand in the way of an elefant stampede, while Grenadier Christian found a gold mine.
-
Wonderful stuff. That first photo is delightful (as are the rest) but the first one captures the scene beautifully. ;D
-
Turn three the Baluchis went hunting. A black panther escaped, but the hero shot a crocodile. The rogues bettered this and shot an elefant!
-
A round of applause to those people. Well done indeed.
All it lacked was a bus full of Japanese tourists with cameras and katanas ;)
Stunning scenery
-
there used to be a C64 game
darkest africa or something....
reminds me of that one
Flintenweiber....... ;D :D ;)
can we please have pictures of the parties

At the moment we have a short break and I'm busy uploading =>pics<= (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?action=gallery;su=user;cat=201;u=8). More to follow.

WOW Great table :-* :-* :-*
Looks like a great game.
Looking forward to more photos.
Really Jealous of the whole set up.
-
Turn 4: The Sikhs start shhoting at the Baluchis. The german leader tries in vain to infiltrate a british unit. Then disaster struck - an envious witch doctor cursed the new King of the Congo!
-
On turn 5 hostilities between Sikhs and Baluchis escalate. The American shoots an antelope, while his henchmen manage to recruit some native fighters. The sailors got lost in a swamp and two of them succumbed to poisoned water.

Turn 6 - the Baluchis are out! Their Vetereans including hero and Leader charged the Sikhs (with hero) and where cut down to a man. Very, very bad dicing on the Baluchi side against miraculous dice throws from the Sikhs.
-
Turn 7 - the rogues managed to acquire the help of ssome amazons. I wonder what they promised them to achieve this.
Doomhippie: Glass pearls or else...
-
Turn 8: Obviously the rogues were not being too nice to the ladies. Upon arriving in the hills looking for gold three of the amazons decided to leave the guys and returned home. The rogues didn't realize that since they were celebrating the kill of a silverback gorilla. Yeah!
Meanwhile the bagage train of the British sailors were ambushed by natives losing two wounded.
-
Turn 9 - in an epic battle about Grimms pack train Lurch killed Grimms Hero and captures the pack train. Bad news for the americans!
-
What a wonderful game! This is my dream table. :-* :-* VERY envious.
Please tell us what little "house" rules u used, if any. What determines if u capture a pack train (killing off the handlers I suppose)?
Please keep the pictures coming.
-
MAGNIFICENT LOOKING TABLE!! and the game sounds very entertaining. more pic.s please i'm trying to steal as many ideas as possable!!
-
Fsultana, the baggage train rules aren't so much "house rules" as part of the upcoming colonial supplement (Björn was kind enough to send me some of his ideas to mull over and make snarky comments about). Looks like the boys have been doing a little play-testing. Looking forward to the supplement's release.
There's no point me adding to the coos, oohs and aahs over this game. There isn't much I can add to what has already been said. Fantastic.
-
Colonial T&T !! :o, can't wait !!!

Believe it or not, I'm privy to those upcoming rules as well, but have been concentrating on the volley fire rules and plum forgot about the baggage train stuff. Silly me. Thanks for setting me back on my mule Plynkes. Giddy up!
While we're on the subject of pack animals, any clues where the pictured horses and mules are from? They seem so familiar, but I just can't put my finger on them.
-
The horses are FOUNDRY from old west mountain man / four legged friends. The mule is from the Brigade Games Sikh Mountain Gun.
-
Some more pice. Driscoles himself will do a game report (at least that's what we told him to do).

Ah yes, and the Prof did loads of more photographs (200+) and he did shots of each troupe
-
I love this very much
note the authenticity of the scenery, especially the pottery, the bananas, the hut, the soil
-
:-*
Absolutely stunning!

I would like to point out that the two pack horses in the picture of my Sikh column (on rectangular "cavalry" bases) are from the German "DSA" (Das Schwarze Auge, an RPG) miniature range. Basically fantasy, but not outrageously so and thus usable for a lot of periods. I think I should re-base them, though, on circular bases...
-
There will be more photos. The Prof. himself took care of the pictures of the various expeditions. We pooled together terrain and models and this is the result.
As a participant of the game let me tell you that this was probably one of the best games I've ever participated in. A great scenario by Driscoles and an example that you can use T&T rules to play high adventures...
So let's just await some comments of the the master himself and the pics the Prof shot.
-
Wow! Looks very impressive. I can't wait for the rest.
-
I love the terrain - the colours look very close to colour pics of African bush that I have collected. I'm never sure whether to use a green or sand base cloth colour, although now I think I'll keep using sand, but with more patches of green to try and copy your look.
Very good news with the T&T supplement. It's development appears to be in "safe hands", so I'm sure it will be a great success when released :D
That's a superb game and one I would pay to play in - and I wouldn't say that too often lol
-
Great work guys, stunning and just beautiful - congrats to all.

180x420cm (6ftx14ft) thanks to the Prof and Grimm who built it. Pure eye candy.

Very very nice. I especially like the venus fly trap plants.

A brilliant joint effort of extraordinary gentlemen ...

Very very nice. I especially like the venus fly trap plants.
Yes, I'd forgotten them! :-*
A tutorial if they are home-made, or a URL if they are commercial products would be very much appreciated :)
-
Dumb me saw the fly trap much too late else I would have involved it as a random encounter.
>:(

That's a shame. Never mind, I might find some in a pet shop here in the UK one day :)
-
Ok I will ask in the pet shop again ;)
-
I wish I'd seen this post yesterday because I was in a pet shop and saw the venus fly trap look-alike. It was around AU$30.00. And looked great.
Mind you, the real thing is cheaper!
-
Beautiful table and miniatures! Your gaming group is fantastic! All nice guys and master terrain makers
and miniature painters! Was this a private game or did you do this for a gaming convention?

Hi Darkoath,

Everybody brings terrain, figures etc and we have fun.

Aha! Thanks very much, sir.
Not the cheapest piece of jungle scenery, but definitely worth having, and their cacti look to have potential too :)

Oh wow, I cannae believe I have managed to miss this thread till now. Beautiful table that is!
-
All around excellence. I love the ruins, scratchbuilt or bought from a manufacturer?
-
IIRC they are from Ziterdes.
-
:-*
i have seen some very pretty game tables in my 30 plus years of miniatures gaming, CITYSACKER, but this has to be close to, if not at, the very top of the long list i could make . . . .
the setup is truly beautiful.
