Title: How to make an AI to play skirmish wargames SOLO
Post by: tereydavi on December 14, 2020, 05:06:03 PM
Two months ago I made a post on solo wargaming, this time I'm dealing with how to make an AI that controls the enemy forces so that you can play your side and try to do your best against a virtual opponent.

The idea is that you play your side and fight as hard as you can to win the game.

I made a sample AI so that you see that it's not so difficult, and I hope it helps people to play solo.

Very insightful as usual; I use a bag of coloured dice as per Blood in Space/On the Blade rather than cards, although I do use cards to determine the Points of Interest for Zona Alfa.

Keep up the good work.

Daniel Massey has a solo system in The Men Who Would be Kings called Mr Babbage.
This is very good and works in a similar way to your concept.

Thanks a lot!

I have one last article on solo wargaming dealing with fog of war and events, I'll try to do as soon as possible...

In the meanwhile I'm painting, making terrain and trying to play a bit more...

(next thing I want to play is a battlespace game, to test the battlespace solo system)
