Back to WWII, I miss 'vanilla' Crossfire so I'm painting up a company of British and a company of Germans. Usual disregard for history applies.
Here's the completed British minus some anti-tank elements (I've run out of bases).

The British tank.

Half the Germans with their tank.

The rest of the Germans are on the painting table.

Love ‘em very War Picture Library

Very good. :)
Makes me want to paint some WWII figures now.
-
Matakishi,
I based a set of WW2 figs on round bases also, but these are 20s, and I think they look good and fit terrain well. What prompted you to do this with your 28s here?

I use round bases exclusively now unless miniatures need to rank up. Some things like guns get rectangular bases too if needed.
-
Well, I'm done except for a pair of guns that I'm currently working on.
Full British

Looks like you've rounded out your project very nicely!

Pretty much done.
Here are the last additions, two anti-tank guns, some sandbags and a pillbox.

I've decided not to use diecast tanks so I've ordered a couple of 3D printed ones off eBay. If they're ok they'll be added to the mix.

Paul
Just pinged you a mail with a suggestion of paint and glue for 3D printed 28mm early war tanks.
-
Two very handsome forces, there.

Nicely done Paul. Good work on the opposing forces.
-
Good stuff Paul :-*
Back to wargaming basics! WW2 British infantry platoon vs German infantry platoon. Plus a little support on either side.
What’s not to like? :)
-
Yes, it's all very nostalgic, harkening back to the days when I bought 1/32 scale Airfix soldiers and read Commando comics. It's because I'm getting too old I think.
Anyway, here are the two 3D printed tanks I bought. I'm very happy with them. More are on the way.

I've ordered some Americans too.

Hey Matakishi great miniature, who makes him? And why is he with the Brits?

It's a Reaper miniature.
He's with the Brits because the Americans are in the post.

I really like the look of your forces based like that. What size table do you use for your 28mm games? I have a problem with 28mm ww2 games they never seem to look right to me on my table, but the basing system you have used here looks a lot better to me some how and i may rebase my toys that way too. Great
-
My table is 6ftx4ft (1800cm x 1200cm) A Crossfire company has 11 bases of troops and 4 individual miniatures before you add optional extras so this size table works well.
-
I’m really liking the look of these. They seem to have that commando comic vibe to them, good stuff!
I know at the start you said you weren’t too worried about historical accuracy. With the vehicles are you going for early war and late war sets, or are you happy fudging it so that you can get all the toys on the table? There is definitely an old school freedom of just using what you have.
-
I'm going to use what I've got but I'm trying to be mainly early war. I'm not going to be using the diecast vehicles I originally bought.
-
Americans. These are my 'pulp' WWII options.
