With the arrival of TFL's Infamy! Infamy ruleset this year inspired me to once again travel back in time and dip my feet back into the wars of Rome and her enemies. I decided to start with Germans as I like their savage no nonsense approach to warfare as one could see in the epic Gladiator film and the fantastic range of Germans the Foundry range gave us those many years ago!

Superb Christopher.
You can’t beat a Copplestone sculpt for character. These are stunning :-*
-
:-* lovely brushwork and excellent photos - most inspiring
-
Very nice indeed. Great inspiration for the Copplestone Suebians that I just got in Foundry’s winter sale.
Looking forwards to seeing more. Wailing women and cavalry incoming?
-
Top job on those minis 👍
They look stunning :-*
-
Thank you very much gentlemen! :)
Wailing women and cavalry incoming?
Yes indeed! The wailing women are finished and cavalry is in the que.
Merry Christmas everyone!
Christopher
-
Beautiful!
-
Wow! Your brushwork on the skin especially. I'm still struggling to paint that level of definition!
-
Excellent paint jobs, they look hairy and fierce!
(Any javelin hurling skirmishers, I think Foundry made those too for Germans?)
-
Lovely brushwork as always :-*
-
Beautiful figures and equally beautiful basing.
-
Very nicely done, they do look the part.
-
Very nice painting!
-
Absolutely top notch with superb work on the sabot bases! Inspirational.
-
Great work Christopher! I also like the "Gladiator" approach on your Germans. "Ihr seid vefluchte Hunde!" is the only phrase I seem to understand, however they don't speak anything else in the movie, do they? Hagen does later, but that's not German... lol
-
Lovely brushwork. :-* :-* :-*
-
Damn good! :-* :-* :-*
Thanks for the inspiration!
-
I could be inspired, or I could just cry.. lovely work on those.
-
Thank you very much Gentlemen! :)

One of the wonderful things about Infamy! Infamy' is the inclusion of Ambush markers and Wailing Women that adds not only a great opportunity to run with the imagination and enhance the table, but an excellent way for troops to deploy onto the table. I really enjoy the TFL's creative set of rules!

Now come some Romans to battle the Germans! These are 3rd Century Roman Legionaries the core of my Infamy force. I quite like the slightly eclectic look they had in this period and thus are a lot of fun to paint as you can take liberties without losing the impression of the period.

@Psychlic Bob
Yes I have played Infamy! Infamy' and it's a superb game, but I haven't with these figures yet as I'm in the process of building them to a playable point.

I concur - very, very nice stuff there!
-
Beautiful wipers, Christopher. Very inspiring!
-
:-* very nice brushwork on a lovely looking unit
-
Fantastic work, a joy to look at.
I think you've pulled this subject off very well.
Going up a couple of posts, the dirt/weathering on the lower section of the shields is brilliant!
-
Thank you everyone I really appreciate the support so I hope you enjoy the new additions! Every Roman commander needs something to protect his Legionaries flanks and to scout out ahead for ambushes so I present some Auxiliary infantry who excel at doing just that.

Lovely Christopher :-* :-* :-*
The excellent paintjobs are really set off by the shield bronze rims and bosses- an idea that I think my Byzantines might benefit from 8)
-
Very nice! I love how well the bases blend in with the sabot trays! :o
-
Terrific stuff! I really like the red cuffs - adds an extra layer of interest to the tunics.
Lovely work on the wood texture on the rear of the shield too.
-
Gorgeous Christopher :-*

Thank you everyone for the kind support! :)

Lovely. :-* :-* :-* :-*

Very, very nice work.
May I ask who makes the cloaked medicus? He looks great and would fit in a number of different roles.
-
Thank you gents!
@Muzfish4
The medic(which I'm not sure he is) is from A&A miniatures Middle Imperial Romans.
Christopher
-
Really like this. Excellent warm colors.

Thanks, Christopher. I'll have to get the 'personalities' pack when next I order from A&A.
