Title: 28mm Whiskey/Moonshine Jugs?
Post by: Bravo Six on January 04, 2021, 10:47:36 PM
Does anyone make 28mm whiskey jugs like the one this Foundry figure is holding?

I don't, but if your need is for just one or two,
may I suggest the following:-
1) Make the body out of a suitable bit of sprue.
2) Put a small ball of putty (miliput or similar) on the top.
A spot of superglue to hold it in place.
Using something like a pencil, create the spout by pushing down into the 'ball'
3) When that has fully dried, stick a similar, but smaller, 'ball' onto the side.
Push gently into both sides to make the handle.

Give it a try.

Smith models on eBay have 'O' scale whiskey jugs but I think they will be too large

I would use a short length of dowel / balsa (even a pencil) and putty to make one and have a go at casting my own out of resin / epoxy glue and silicone sealant.

Thanks guys. I figured maybe having to make them myself was a possibility. I was thinking the right bead might make for a good body to start.

I was able to find these on Etsy. They'll do the trick just fine. :)

If Hirst Arts has one in Mould 59 Unique Inn Accessories.  Not worth it to buy the mould just for that but if you know anyone that has it then they could cast a few up for you.

Thanks snitchy. I think these will be just enough. However, if I decide on a bigger moonshine production game, I may have to consider the Hirst Arts molds. I know a few people who can cast them for me.
