Title: Gluing PLA
Post by: Digits on January 21, 2021, 04:58:16 PM
So I have just bought a small pla printed greenhouse from Iron Gate Miniatures.....but I will be damned if my Loctite superglue will stick it together!

Anyone have sure fired way of pluming PLA parts please?

Plastic Weld (or some other derivation) but allow it to go off properly and be quite liberal with it.

Apply it with a brush (squirrel hair brushes are good as they hold quite a bit) but keep that brush separate from painting brushes.

It’s not great stuff so be careful with it  :)

Might not work in fine details, but for a PLA printed mini that I'd gotten a while back, I powdered one side with some baking soda and used super glue applied to the other side then used a bit more around the joint

I have used Pastruct Plastic Weld to glue SLA prints successfully.
It glues them like it would a plastic model kit.
