My father was in the 2nd Marine Div. during WWII.
I served with the 3 Marine Div during Vietnam.

Have you found a ruleset that effectively plays out how difficult it seems to have been for US infantry to tackle the most well-prepared Japanese positions? I've never ventured into WWII gaming but always liked the idea of a game where one player is basically setting up as hellishly difficult a puzzle as they can, and the other player has to try to crack it. Pacific Island scenarios fit that perfectly.

No worries buddy and sorry for the delayed response.

I use either Bolt Action or CoC for WWII, but it's all about fun for me, so I am not too worried about accurately reflecting a real life.

There was a Japanese Type 41 75mm Mountain Gun in a park where my dad took us fishing as kids. My brother and I would get bored fishing and play soldiers instead. As a kid, I had no idea it was Japanese artillery, but visiting it as an adult I noticed the Japanese writing.
