Title: Dawns & Departures Campaign system experience
Post by: pixelgeek on January 27, 2021, 05:41:55 PM
Has anyone used the Dawns & Departures campaign system from TFL?

Would it work well for an ImagiNation campaign?

I can’t see why not. Do you have specific questions about what is worrying you/you’re unsure of? I have it in front of me and I’m happy to try and help.

I believe that Lardy Rich did his own Imagi-Nation project for Sharp Practice 2, and Dawns & Departures was made to work with all eras that suit SP2. Can't see there being any issues running some Imagi-Nation campaigns with it!

No specific issues. Just wanted to check before I picked it up

I have D&D and whilst I have not played it yet, I have read it. Seems to me it will work for any nation, historical or fictional.

It does seem to work best with an umpire, my own issue with it so far.

As Gibby says D&D is really just a toolbox so as long as you have a setting and forces in mind the campaign system will work perfectly. And as Rick says it would probably work best with an umpire or at least one person taking the GM/umpire role and running the opponent forces for the other person to fully enjoy the gaming experience (allowing for surprises/hidden movement etc).

Well based on the comments I have picked it up. I will be using the current situation to build up some terrain and forces for a campaign to run hopefully once all this settles out.

Depending on my budget I may run it with Flintloque figures using the SP2 lists that have been posted

Thank you. I imagine the campaign system will work with other skirmish rules.

Does it support more than 1v1 players?
