We have a German Retailer in Halbich Designs:

I must mention Philibert (Strasbourg, France) who, although mainly advertising as a boardgame retailer, has a large range of miniatures and knows well what they are. Thanks to them I did obtain easily some blisters (from different origins) which I needed, avoiding me to go through larger orders from abroad (which I often do when I really need a large range of figures, but when just looking for something precise I find Philibert useful if you're lucky enough to find it in their current stock).

These guys are grade A assh*les and people should look for alternatives. They have a habit of taking ideas, trademarking them or getting design protections in Spain and then suing people. They drove the original manufacturer of those texture rollers out of the market and then threatened to sue Vallejo over their colour shifting paints. Then had a YouTube hobbiest's videos shut down when they reviewed the Vallejo paints.

For magnets and magnetic sheets I have recently turned to supermagnete.de (https://www.supermagnete.de)

Distributer Alphaspel (https://alphaspel.se/) has a huge stock of various materials, games and miniatures, I am guessing they are able to absorb a least a aprt of the new distributor cost for the items that originate from the UK.

Green Stuff World (http://www.http://www.greenstuffworld.com/) is spanish, isn't it? They have in a short time become quite big in the modelling materials business.

Hi Ray,

Great idea! Also wonderful resource! Just goes to show that the hobby is alive and active and we might get away without needing to order too much from the UK.

I know two distributors here in Germany that are not yet on the list:

Masters of Military (1/285, 1/2000, 1/4000 Vehicles and vessels) https://mastersofmilitary.de/

Frontline Games (lots of products from several manufacturers)

Thanks, Hammers.

I check out each link to verify it and look over the products available to ensure a reasonable description. So it is time intensive.

Remarkably, there are a lot of very nice miniatures produced in the EU that I had no idea about until now. If I added the adjective "fine" to the description, that indicates excellent sculpting on the miniatures.

Will start on distributors soon.

Hi Ray,

One more that I remembered that I hadn't added before:

Tabletop-Modellbau (modular terrain, rivers and terrain)
https://tabletop-modellbau-onlineshop.de/epages/f0641a28-b1fc-4bd2-bb5d-7f3434605a19.sf/en_US/?ObjectPath=/Shops/f0641a28-b1fc-4bd2-bb5d-7f3434605a19/Categories/Imprint

Also, are you thinking to add a third category for general hobby supplies? I find myself using architecture/art supply stores to buy a lot of things these days. I can add some links to these if of interest?

Best,
LS :)

Talking about German manufacturers/suppliers, I think Black Hussar is also missing from your list, Ray : 28mm Napoleonics sculpted by Paul Hicks (the former Westfalia range), their own 28mm SYW and FIW range plus all sorts of very useful C18th/19th wagons, civilians and accessories. I have ordered from them in the past (I will be repeating the experience next month as a matter of fact) and Sascha is a great guy to deal with :

sceneryworkshop.nl (http://www.sceneryworkshop.nl); for a wide range of hobby supplies. During lock-down, I have experienced excellent and fast service from them so far.

shop.battlefield-berlin.de (http://www.shop.battlefield-berlin.de); I have ordered loads of eclectic miniatures from them over the years and their product range is pretty dang huge. They have always been great, but I can't comment on their current service, as I haven't ordered from them for a while.

Updated the manufacturers...

@Greuthungi -Thanks for all the new links

Once again this should bring manufacturers up to date. Any other ones out there?

And just a reminder, please use the format on the first page for all manufacturers and Distributors. It makes life so much easier for me to update the list and, it doesn't need to have comments and such as I review it in detail.

One of my impressions from reviewing all those sites is that there is some mighty fine (Perry quality) 28mm Risorgimento (Italian Unification 1848–1871) minis available.

It would be nice to see the thread pinned. I have spent a ton of time reviewing each and every link.

Hi mates,

Sorry for not updating the OP for awhile now.

I have been having some issues with my sight for quite some time (blurry and double vision  o_o) and after visiting my ophthalmologist, it was determined that I will need surgery for cataracts on both eyes. This coming Thursday I will be having a consult, a blood analysis and a electrocardiogram before my first surgery.

No big deal really and I actually am looking forward to getting this done. However, it has limited my online time and painting.

So don't think I have forgotten this thread and if you have any new links, please keep posting them.

Cheers!

Great resource, thank you.

I will share with the wargaming clubs here in Helsinki.

Is there a Warbases equivalent in the EU, someone who does any/every MDF base, I spent ages trying to find in DE...?

Oddly I came on to ask the same question. Mc_deli seems to have beaten me to the draw though.

Not as much on offer as Warbases, but a friend from our gaming club has a small online store and a laser cutter. He does some MDF bases.

Edit: I guess I should say he also stocks SAGA, Victrix, Infinity and other bits and bobs.

Was also going to ask the same question about finding MDF bases in all forms and sizes.

Hi all,

People were asking where to get mdf bases from in Europe. Found this chap and I can highly recommend!

https://shop.toru-tech.de/shop/tabletop/bases/ - MDF bases and other wooden products for gamers.

Hope that Ray will be back with us soon to finish off this great endeavor!

Best,
LS

My local Dutch FLGS - btw, I'm NOT affiliated with them - distributes a.o. North Star ( afaik their whole catalogue, so also the stuff Nick distributes himself ) and Warlord Games ( plastic boxed sets and some metals ) so a good way for us Dutchies to avoid extra duties and courier charges:

Hi folks!  :D

Updated the OP to bring us more or less up-to-date. Still have distributers to finish.

Please keep posting any new links and let me know if any need to be taken down.

I'd like to say my vison problems are solved, but unfortunately, not. I had cataract surgery for both my eyes, but for some reason or another, I just couldn't see well. I went to an ophthalmologist to have my eyes checked out and sure enough, she found that I had lost 30% of my vision in the left eye. I believe after I had my cafe nearly refurbished, I walked rather quickly into a large glass sliding door and smashed my face rather badly. In fact, the collision knocked me on my ass. The trauma to my left eye was almost certainly the reason for the vision loss.

So it looks like I will have to wear glasses again (which I have all my life). Will be picking up my new glasses on Monday, and hopefully I will get to see decently again. I've been using those cheapo reading glasses which give me huge headaches. Who knows, maybe I'll even be able to paint again.

Anyway, sorry for the delay on things here...

Had my first order from tabletopper.nl come in yesterday. Lovely, great service.

I also ordered a bunch of Coat d'Arms paints from https://shop.halbich.design/de/wargaming/modellbau-4/coat-d-arms-farben-5/ (https://shop.halbich.design/de/wargaming/modellbau-4/coat-d-arms-farben-5/). On page#1 Black Hat mention that their store's shut down due to ...well, lockdown. The frontpage telling us that still exists, but they're well in business. Had a little problem ordering, but that was soley because paypal had decided to update their button without telling the retailers. The lovely lady I corresponded with via e-mail worked on it until 9 in the evening until they found a workaround.

Earlier today I learned about https://www.worean.de/ (https://www.worean.de/), who stock a TON of stuff. Had a look at their pendraken(!) offerings, was a bit taken aback due to the prices. Then I checked on Pendraken's website ...well, the prices are perfectly fine. Dang, Pendraken's prices have increased. :D Not to say that it's unjustified. They have great figures, they are THE go-to place for 10mm figures, and there's all the problems with supply and raw materials and so on. But I was surprised. Anyway, Worean. They're good to go on the big list. :)

Just a little update on Halbich Design ( https://shop.halbich.design/de/wargaming/modellbau-4/coat-d-arms-farben-5/ (https://shop.halbich.design/de/wargaming/modellbau-4/coat-d-arms-farben-5/) )

They sell Coat d'Arms paints in Germany, and since I'm a big fan of that paints range I ordered with them two months ago. There was a slight problem with Paypal on that day because PP had changed the way their "Pay with Paypal" button worked without telling the people who run the online store. Mrs.Habich replied to my e-mail very swiftly and worked it out until 9 in the evening on a Friday, which I found very nice.

They didn't have all the paints in stock at the time, so it took two weeks or so until my order arrived, all perfectly fine.

Now, two months later, Mrs.Halbich actually e-mailled me, asking if I got the order alright and if I was satisfied with the paints. Top marks for this company from my side of things.

I have noted that there is a Warlord Games Europe web site.

https://eu.warlordgames.com/

It is difficult to determine if this is really an "EU" hobby resource. I've read the stuff they have concerning shipping and delivery and it appears that they do cover VAT charges, however, product is shipped from the UK.

What'ca all think?

Haven't tried it yet, but i was very impressed with the price increases when I checked some Bolt Action stuff recently. Probably not their fault, but it put me off a bit to be honest. Recently I sat with my wargamey friends, and we came to the conclusion that buying stuff just 'isn't fun any more'. Which is a crying shame.

I wouldn't gamble on it, as there still might be duty and a couriers handling fee on it ( unless they are having a big sale, then it could pay off ). Otherwise it might be better to have your FLGS order for you.

Yeah, I'm fairly certain on that. And the last few Warlord Sales weren't that exciting to me at least. Good thing about Warlord stuff is that it's pretty much widely available.

I just recently made an order with Warlord Games EU and I did opt for courier shipping. It was a small (test) package order of 53 Euros which arrived without any duty payment required.
