Hey folks,
As I’m having no luck tracking down the out of production Defiance Games Chinese Militia I thought I’d try a different tack and see if anyone had any ideas about recreating Draconis Combine infantry in 28mm. I’ve included pics to give you an idea what type of look I’m aiming for.
Any help would be great thanks!
Christine

Maybe Anvil Industry and/or Victoria Miniatures. They make separate heads, bodies, weapons, that can be mixed and matched. Anvil Industry Regiments range shows the different parts.

Are you looking for 28mm, or would true 25mm figures work? If 25s would be acceptable, one option might be the FSE (Federal States of Europa) line made by Ground Zero Games. Their helmets have a similar shape to the Kurita ones (some figs also have Kepi caps, so be a little careful about which codes).
Good luck with the search!

I wouldn't worry about not finding the Defiance Chinese Militia, I was told the casting was very poor with horrible mold lines.
The Kurita or Steiner troops from Iron Wind Metal match well with your images. They are listed as 25mm... but its worth asking them if that's head to toe or from the eyes to toes...
You can find them under the Battletech Online Exclusive Battle Troopers section of the site.

Thanks, unfortunately the Iron Wind metals are to the best of my knowledge proper 25mm so would look quite out of place.
With regards to Anvil Industry I think it’s the head that’s the issue - did wonder about Star Wars Fleet Troopers for the heads but could get expensive quick.

Not out yet, but the Astro Guard for Star Schlock (https://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=129893.0) have a similar helmet (albeit with visors) and quilted chest armour.

Thanks Craig - yeah I think they’ll be my best bet, really hoping I can just buy a bunch of troops without having to pick up anything else on the Kickstarter!

Fingers crossed!

The Kurita troops were one of the inspirations I looked to for the Star Schlock Astroguards. You'll be able to pick the troops up without getting anything else. Reminder to subscribe to the newsletter for word on the Kickstarter launch and the chance to provide input on the sculpts: https://www.starschlock.com/

Glad to hear it, and this make me feel informed. :) Thanks!
