Title: 1st Corps ECW Foot regiment
Post by: valleyboy on March 10, 2021, 08:54:25 AM
Just off the workbench is a Foot regiment by 1st Corps, these were really lovely figures to paint and seemed to suit my style. I'm glad I've bought more!
More as usual on the blog valleyboyinnz.wordpress.com

Unfortunately I had to paint the flags as rather stupidly I made a mistake when ordering flags in advance from Flags of War - when I went to use the flags I realised that all the flags that I had bought, were those for named regiments that all had coats that were colours other than red! I did buy flags for The Kings Lifeguard Regiment of Foote but I'm not sure what figures I'm going to use for that regiment yet!

Very nice. I recognise what I think are BigRedBat based. What rule set are you planning to use?

That’s a stunning looking regiment! 👍

The hand painted flags look great.

Great looking units! Excellent work. They put me in mind of Sir John Owen’s Regiment of Foote.... but I may be a bit biased in that regard.

Nicely done Kerry. Not bad figures those  :)

beautifully done.
the 1st corps figs have lots of character, and I think it's hard to beat the 'look' of mixed musket / pike unit in terms of figure gaming.

Thanks - for King and Parliament
I might consider giving Warlord's Poke & Shite a go as well

Thanks but you do realise that you have a big part to play....  errr I mean blame for all of this don't you?
I'd like to see you paint up a few 1st Corps given what a superb job you've done on other ranges

If using FK&P you must have a big table and large-size grids. I’m building my FK&P units for use with 15cm grids and have 17 figure size units. 9 pike/command in 3 x 3 ranks flanked by 2 units of 4 musketeers. I did think of going either 6 or 10mm but others in my gaming group had old 28mm armies.

Very nicely painted. The castings look good too. Last time I looked there weren't many rank-and-file infantry poses, but that's a while ago and things may have changed.
