Hi,
My first real post on LAF. Although I will refer to my blog I'll try to stick to the guidelines mentioned in the "How To Make Your Blog LAF Friendly" topic elsewhere on LAF.
Lockdown provided me with extra time to get busy with some of the projects on my gaming "must have" list.
In the top regions of that list was a submarine usable for 28mm pulp and WW2 games. I looked at commerial available ones but decided to try my hand at scratchbuilding one.
The main shape was cut from styrofoam. Because I wanted ample room for miniatures to stand in the conning tower (with a 25mm base) I used a plastic cheese spread container:

I realise that in reality the space in the conning tower is much more confined but it only has to look the part and being able to place miniatures is more important for me than historical accuracy.
That being the case I did look at pictures of the superb 1/32 Andrea submarine kit for inspiration.
The hull was covered with riveted steel plates printed on paper. I also used lots of bits from my bitsbox e.g. WHFB dwarf shields, Void syntha shields, the rear end of a 1/72 airfix sdkfz 7, large and small staples, Mantic scifi railings and chicken wire.

A very nice way to start posting.
I do like the fact you chose a stylized approach to your submarine. You've managed to balance accessible space and detailing. Whilst maintaining the feel of a submarine,and avoiding it resembling a preshool children's toy.

I agree....getting a mix between something that feels right and enough space to actually play on is pretty hard to master but this looks very cool!

I'm thinking about using the submarine in part 2 of a 2 games WW2 scenario:
game 1: Germans need to steal a piece of technology or abduct a VIP from the British Isles.
game 2: They have to escape to the coast for extraction by the submarine. The submarine can provide fire support and/or deploy a squad of sailors in support.
