At the moment a placeholder for my project. Probably something for Vietnam war.
-
So now the rules are clear about how many pieces of difficult terrain can be included, I am of to start. Sort of anyway.
I will build different kinds of boobytraped terrain, or terrain made difficult through boobytraps, punjistakes, etc.

Stellar! I was hoping someone would build something like that.
-
I build these little surprises into patches of marshy elephant grass patches like in the sea of reeds in the mekong region.
-
Here is the star of the first difficult terrain base. A narrow way across swamp terrain blocked by a nasty surprise:
-
Ouch!
-
Some more progress:
-
Interesting idea. I am following with interest. ;)
-
Great, I have done a series of traps before for my board. Looking forward to how this turns out!
-
I will do 6 different traps, like a hanging bomb, a bent tree limb with pun stakes on it, the handgranate in a tin type ,maybe a snake pit etc all hidden on or near a trail through swampy terrain.
By the way the space between the trail and the elephant grass will be waterlogged , so you have to walk over the pit ;)
-
Are you considering multiple traps on the same base?
Reason I ask is that it was a common tactic to punji stake ditches before a tripwire, so that when the lead soldier triggered the initial trap, others were injured diving into ditches off of the trail.
-
Yes there will be bigger bases with more traps on them . The one you see is just a test piece
-
OK, I made a little bit more progress. In the pictures below you see one of the big terrain pieces. It measures 20x30cm. There will be another of this size and 4 smaller ones. I changed the placement of the boobytraps a bit.
as you can see I made a whole in the track which can accomodate the washewrs I use as bases. On the bases I will place either a trap or a harmless terrain feature as can be seen in the pictures. So you don#t know in advance how dangerous the track through the swamp is.
The elephant grass is artificial lawn glued on with a hot glue gun.

ooops, somehow the pictures are all upside down? Wasn't the case when i uploaded them....
-
Nice work Tom 8)
I often seal the stakes off in the oven before putting them in the pun ;)
-
I like the idea of swapping trees for traps.
-
Especially when the tree is the trap ;)
-
Here are some more pictures of my tree trap. If you step into the trap the bamboo branch or rather the attached spikes will get you real nasty.
-
Nicely done
-
Thanks
-
Nice. That actually looks functional! :D

Absolutely - if you were 28mm tall getting that in the face would definitely ruin your day!
-
indeed.
I just tried to upload some more pictures . But the system won#t let me, telling me not enough disc space?
-
So now that I droped out of the Contest I can post more pictures of my build.
Here are pictures of the finished traps:

Well done. The trap bases are particularly clever.
-
Love the interchangeable nature of the traps 8)
-
Great job - I like the modularity of it all, and the trap is perfect.
-
So much good Vietnam stuff on LAF, lately! You guys are killing me worse than the traps...! Trying...to...resist...new...period >:(
