Initially perturbed thematically, now excited, & yet undecided.
Too many ideas & not enough brain cells.
Welcome to your first BSC :D

Clearly there is no shortage of inspiration here! Good luck with the project!

Cool effects, great textures. Really liking the look of this.

This looks very clever - I am looking forward to the finished pieces.
-
This looks really good. :)

Very interesting and informative! The bits about tarry tendril monsters was suggestive of one of the acts in Diablo 2, although that featured flaming tendrils...

This is very realistic looking and cleverly made terrain so far Clach Umha, and I love the sweeping fluidity of your tar demon. I am very keen to see the final version!
I like the way that the WIP threads for this competition often give you an interesting insight into the creator's though process; not just the techniques they use but their influences and their whole approach to the hobby.

I really like the direction you’re going with the tar pits. It certainly fits the theme of the competition very well! I’m interested to see the final product.

:o
No, I was not insinuating plagiarism. Scenes from Diablo 2 (an old PC fantasy game) came to mind. That is all.
-
Fantastic watching this come together, lots of unique materials and the bubbling tar effect is amazing!
-
Really evocative! Just the kind of new and different pieces that I hope to see in this contest.
-
Wow...the amount of work, thought, and testing you are putting into this is amazing! :o

I hope to see you return to this project some day soon- everything in this thread has been wonderful to see. :)

With some searching about, I remembered that it was the "River of Flame" from "diablo 2 act 4," for example as described here (this site would seem to include a lot of images and some video content, etc., so may be slow to load):
https://diablo.fandom.com/wiki/River_of_Flame
There are also these:
https://diablo2.diablowiki.net/Act_IV
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diablo_II
Regardless, do you build models for museums? Your observations and attention to detail are impressive.

Yes, you will 8) , I shall see if it's cool to condense what's here with a seperate thread on the workbench that I can chip away at over the next month or so. Will see about contributing financially too, fares fares taking up space an all that.
You can ask the mods to move this thread from here to Workbench intact, that's a power they have and something that has been done for previous BSC rounds where someone isn't able to complete in time for the contest but is going to keep going on the project. (at least one of my previous BSC attempts had this happen, and come to think of it that project STILL isn't finished...)

I think your blog is fab by the way, some lovely figs on there Sir, & your diorama table set ups with the themeatics are superb!
Great seeing the old copplestone Cthulhu gangsters & detectives, have some myself, ashamedly still naked. Overall cracking painting & lovely builds. The temples are very clever & look the biz ;) I shall be perusing your blog & threads forthwith, time permiting.
Aww, thank you, sir! I always wonder as I post up new entries to my blog if anybody is "out there" looking at them. It is gratifying you have, and want to come back for more! My scratch-build skills are nowhere up to your caliber!
