Title: Do not want to see the trees for the wood
Post by: AndrewBeasley on April 08, 2021, 11:29:13 AM

I've been pottering with 6mm for a change for a SciFi game based on the One Hour Wargame / Portable Wargame style and after a few false starts finally getting somewhere.

One thing I wanted was some woods but the cheap eBay trees I bought where so bad I decided that an abstract direction was better so a few minutes later out popped a test peice:

The trunk part is rubber horsehair glued down with superglue gel, sprayed brown (rattle can) with PVA'd dark green course flock on top and a varnish top coat (rattle can).

For the full scale one I'll lighten up the canopy colour but quite chuffed with the result as the crown is nice and uneven but the whole is reasonably solid.

Those really do look like trees!
