Title: 28mm Ragged Sashimono/Banners

Gents, I'm trying to find  some ragged/tattered sashimonos or banners suitable for fantasy Japan. Has anyone out there done anything like this in 28mm?

I was looking for ready made, but I don't think there's a choice.

I was wondering whether Zenit’s undead ashigaru for Kensei might include something suitable. I have a box somewhere but am unsure about sashimono. I doubt they’d be sold separately in any case, but it may be worth checking the web store at shop.zenitminiatures.es

Edit: I now see that the set Yari Ashigaru has ten putrescent footsloggers with exceptionally distressed - albeit proudly worn - sashimono. There’s no indication that the banners can be bought separately, however.

Thanks Andrew. Yeah that Zenit stuff is pretty cool. I have their "Funeral Set" of terrain items and these suit Fantasy Japan well.

Perhaps I can find said pack you mentioned for a steal somewhere. Or perhaps post a Bazaar "Wanted" post just for a banner or two.

You’re welcome. I imagine you’ve already considered distressing the sashimono yourself but presumably don’t want to do this. I note Steel Fist Miniatures have an extensive range of separate sashimono and other banners of various shapes and sizes, some of them in brass, which should be relatively easy to distress, but this would be a quite expensive option.

Yeah I'd considered that Andrew. But as you say, for the sake of just a couple, it might become expensive. I fired an email off to Zenit to see if these can be gotten as a "replacement part" so we shall see.
