Title: Trinity: Battleground?
Post by: leutenantbrittan on September 07, 2009, 10:49:14 AM
Hi!

Ive been rummaging in my attic and found my old copy of Trinity: Battleground

It looks quite interesting and I fancy giving it a go, alas when I bought it I never played it! Essentially its a skirmish game between the good guys (battle psychics and normal troops) and the evil mutated villains, the Aberrants.

I  plan on collecting a couple of small forces for it using an assortment of miniatures but was wondering if anyone else has played it as all the reviews Ive read either love it or loath it!

The game was pulled by its publishers, White Wolf 6 months after its publication but there was apparently a draft edition of the supplement produced called Lonestar. Does anyone know of where I can get a copy of it as White Wolfs forum has yielded up no response!

Any suggestions would be most welcome!

I don't play it but I still have some blisters kicking around. Thankfully not affected by the newly discovered blight of lead rot I had in my old and unopened stuff.

Played it once but was underwhelmed by the overcomplicated rules. In addition, the bad guys weren't really a unity and just a weird bunch.
Some of the individual miniatures were nice though! I painted the guy in brown suit and liked painting him a lot. The casts were horrendous though. Some had maybe more flash than actual miniature!

At least you managed to paint them! Even after repeatedly cleaning them in soapy water I couldnt get paint to stick to them when I originally got the box set!

It does seem to be a love it or loath it game as all the reviews Ive read seem to be split between it being great and it being an abomination!

Still its a good excuse to paint up some gribbly monsters to stomp some puny humans!

Well, I loved the RPG and really liked the tabletop.
Yes the minis were a bit lousy and the paint was not holding, but the game system was (at least IMO) very simple, streamlined and nice to play.

The Lone Star supplement is IIRC on several pages, I have lost the link I was sure I had...

Love the game! One of the inspirations for SuperSystem! Some of the metal models released for the game were fantastic!

Check these two out:

I love Holt! He's great, as are Dr. Sager and Lu Chen.

Still have my copy, but I ended up cutting a hand off the electropsyhic guy, as I needed it for a hacker hand for an Infinity mini.
