I am happy to announce that Striker!, the game of miniature football will be making a return to the tabletop soon!
Striker! was originally released in 2016 and written by Tony Moffitt. Unfortunately, Tony was unable to continue supporting the game and it was removed from sale in 2019. The good news is I have recently acquired the rights to Striker! and will be releasing a second edition.
I have written the first draft and made some small improvements, and also added some new rules, including a campaign system and player skills. The core of the game remains the same and has just been edited for clarity with some minor improvements, more diagrams, etc.
The plan is to release these rules as a PDF, supported by a range of miniatures for 3D printing. These are some models I tired to release (as metal models) previously but ran into some production problems and didn't move forward, but will now be used as official (digital) models for Striker!. I am also working on a print edition that will be released a bit later, among some other ideas I am still working on.
In the meantime, I am looking for playtesters! If you are interested in playing the game and providing feedback, please email send me a PM and include your email address so I can send you the link to the rules. Playtesters who provide feedback will get the final PDF release for free.
If you'd just like to follow along, I have set up a new Facebook page and am working on a new website:
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/strikertablesoccer (https://www.facebook.com/strikertablesoccer)
Website: http://strikertablesoccer.com (http://strikertablesoccer.com)
I am very excited to bring Striker! back and look forward to everyone's feedback.

Good news. Does this mean the figures will become available? The website tells you nothing, it’s essentially a place holder near as I can tell. I had thought they had all joined the European Super League, so I look forward to seeing the figs and rules.
I suspect my son would be interested in play testing the rules, he lives eats and breathes football.

Yes the figures will be available. I am doing playtesting at the moment and will be bringing the website back over the next couple of weeks.

Very interesting news indeed!! Good luck with your project, I will be following it closely. I must admit I always fancied doing a football project. :)

This is really exciting to hear this is happening again, I backed your initial attempt at the figures a few years ago 😀
Sending an PM with my email to playtest the rules

Thanks Ivor - let me know if you got the link to the rules OK. I think I messed up the email address when I replied.

I'm interested in the rules.
I have some old airfix football players so I'm planning to play in 1/32 scale. Which size the bases should be?
Thanks

If you are playing with the Argentine side you will need larger bases to accurately model the figures in a prone or occasional foetal position. ;)

The game is normally played with 28mm models on 25mm bases - 1/32 is pretty big! I think I'd try 40mm bases maybe?

Are you still looking for playtesters?
-
Yep, just PM me if you're interested.
