Title: Blitzkrieg Miniatures
Post by: Mindenbrush on April 28, 2021, 08:04:02 PM
Just received two early WW2 vehicles from Blitzkrieg Miniatures UK and they are really nice, clean pieces.
Paul was helpful with communication, ordering was easy and they arrived before Canada Post had time to log them into their tracking system.

Actually, Canada Post have been pretty good, the odd delays as packages sit in  a Mississauga depot but only one package has been lost in the 10 years I have been living here.

Anything has to be better than USPS and/or RM at the moment....

You'll have to excuse my cynicism - here is my one and only encounter with a North American postal system.  A bit of background - I sent a box of second-hand figures from the UK to a chap on the West Coast; it took a mere two days for Royal Mail to get it to the US, the following four weeks went something like this:

Lie #1 - We tried to deliver it but there was nobody in  (no they didn't and yes there was)
Lie #2 - We tried to deliver it twice today, but there was nobody in (ditto)
Lie #3 - Parcel?  What parcel? We don't have it (the tracking app says you do)
Lie #4 - Ah, we've located it, it's actually at the other sorting office for this area (it wasn't)
Lie #5 - Sorry, we can't deliver it as the address is all wrong (ditto)

The intended recipient then offered to go there and collect it; they agreed to hold it at the front desk.  He turned up to discover that they'd put it on a van and it was being delivered.  He returned home and found that it hadn't (someone else was in all day).  A neighbour in the next road dropped it off two days later, having had it jammed into his mail box.

I now understand why people enter USPS premises with an automatic weapon and hatred in their heart.

It's only when you experience external postal services that you realise how good the UK one actually is.  Since lockdown here, more than a year ago, I have ordered somewhere in the region of 50 items (a large percentage of which I would have purchased at shows), and the vast majority of these have been sent 2nd Class post (normally up to seven working days to arrive).  All have arrived safe and sound; almost all have reached me within 2-3 days of being posted; and some have even got here in the time I would expect for 1st Class Post.  I do know other RM customers who have had stuff not arrive or go missing, but I have to say that in this part of the world, RM has earned its corn.

Ok, my mistake in mentioning a postal service when I was actually complimenting Blitzkrieg Miniatures.
